What Kanban Is and Why It Matters at WorkUntitledThe Factory Floor Meets Agile Teams

Kanban training in Uruguay from Invensis Learning is a one-day, practical programme that teaches you to manage the flow of work using a visual, pull-based system. You learn to make work visible, limit work in progress (WIP) and move tasks smoothly from request to done, whether you run a production line or an Agile delivery team. Kanban began on the factory floor as part of the Toyota Production System, developed by Taiichi Ohno in the 1950s to trigger production only in response to real downstream demand. David J. Anderson later adapted the same principles for knowledge work, giving software, IT and service teams the Kanban board, WIP limits and flow metrics they use today. This course covers both worlds. For professionals across Montevideo's technology hub, Zonamerica free-zone firms and Uruguay's exporters, these skills translate directly into shorter lead times, less multitasking waste and more predictable delivery. Start building a capability that employers in fintech, IT services and logistics actively look for.

The Practical Payoff of Learning KanbanOutcomes for You and Your Team

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

This training helps professionals turn a busy, unpredictable workload into a smooth, visible flow. It suits Scrum Masters, project and delivery leads, operations and production managers, analysts and anyone responsible for moving work through a system. Whether you manage a software backlog, an IT service queue or a production line in Uruguay, you leave able to visualise work, cap work in progress and improve delivery from real data rather than guesswork.

If you want a practical, immediately usable skill rather than theory, Kanban is a strong choice. You gain board design, WIP-limit setting, flow measurement and pull-system design that you can put to work the day after the course.

    • Visualise your team's entire workflow on a Kanban board so nothing stays hidden or stalled

    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group Kanban training helps organisations in Uruguay standardise how teams manage the flow of work. It can be delivered for software and delivery teams, IT service desks, PMOs, or production and logistics groups. For organisations under pressure to deliver more predictably with the same headcount, this training gives teams a practical, shared system for limiting WIP and improving flow.

If your teams start more work than they finish and dates keep slipping, group Kanban training creates a common approach to visualising work, capping WIP and measuring flow, so improvement is based on evidence, not opinion.

The Market Forces Making Kanban Skills Valuable in Uruguay

    Overloaded Delivery Teams

Uruguay's software and fintech firms run lean teams under tight deadlines, so work often piles up faster than it is finished. WIP limits stop overcommitment and protect focus and delivery.

    Kanban WIP limits stop overcommitment

    Pressure for Predictable Delivery

Nearshore clients in the US and Europe expect reliable dates from Montevideo teams. Lead time, cycle time and throughput data let teams forecast delivery instead of guessing.

    Flow metrics build predictability

    Scaling Fintech and SaaS

As Uruguay's payments and SaaS scale-ups grow, ad hoc task management breaks down. A visual pull system keeps work flowing smoothly as teams and demand expand.

    Pull-based flow supports scale

    Port and Logistics Complexity

Uruguay's strategic ports and free zones move goods between Argentina, Brazil and beyond. Kanban pull replenishment reduces inventory and aligns supply to real demand.

    Kanban enables pull replenishment

    Manufacturing Efficiency

Exporters in dairy, plastics and agro-industry face capital and cost pressure. Just-in-time pull production eliminates overproduction, the waste that hides all the others.

    Just-in-time pull cuts waste

    Scarce Flow Expertise

Uruguay has a deep pool of developers but far fewer people who can design a pull system, set WIP limits and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram, making these skills valuable.

    Today

Work piles up as teams start more than they finish, and dates slip

    After training

You cap work in progress and deliver more predictably with visible flow

    Today

Flow is handled by gut feel, with no data on how long work takes

    After training

You measure lead time, cycle time and throughput and improve from data

    Today

Recognised for delivery, but pull-system and flow skills are scarce

    After training

You hold a Kanban skill set that Uruguay's tech and industry employers seek

    You master Kanban flow

    Before

Overloaded boards and constant context-switching between tasks

    Now you have

A pull system that limits WIP and protects your team's focus

    Before

Push scheduling that hides overproduction and excess inventory

    Now you have

Just-in-time flow triggered by real downstream demand

    Before

No shared language for managing work between teams

    Now you have

A common Kanban approach across manufacturing and Agile teams

    Before

Improvement based on opinion rather than evidence

    Now you have

Data-driven improvement using the Cumulative Flow Diagram

"The gap between staying busy and delivering predictably is a system for managing flow, and the teams that matter already run one."

The Kanban Capabilities You Will BuildBoards, WIP Limits and Flow Metrics

This programme moves beyond theory to the concrete skills you can apply immediately. By the end of the day, you can visualise a workflow, limit WIP, design manufacturing and Agile Kanban systems, and improve flow using real metrics.

    Pull-Based Flow Fundamentals

You will learn to run work as a pull system: making tasks visible, limiting work in progress and moving them smoothly from request to done. This card grounds you in the push-versus-pull distinction and why Kanban eliminates overproduction, the waste that hides the others.

Kanban Board and WIP Limit Design

Design a Kanban board with columns, swimlanes, classes of service and a clear definition of done, then set WIP limits that force teams to finish before they start. You leave able to build a board for your own workflow and manage flow day to day.

    Manufacturing Kanban System Design

Build production pull systems using production and withdrawal kanban, one-bin and two-bin systems, supermarkets and e-Kanban. Learn how the two-kanban loop self-regulates production and enables just-in-time replenishment.

Flow Metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot bottlenecks and growing WIP. Use the data to forecast delivery and target real improvements.

    Kanban Quantity and System Sizing

Calculate kanban quantities and the number of cards using demand, replenishment lead time and a safety factor, and link sizing to takt time. Learn the common mistakes that reintroduce excess inventory and how to avoid them.

    Scrumban and Sustaining Kanban

Combine Kanban with Scrum as Scrumban, run the Kanban cadences, and keep a system healthy over time by preventing WIP-limit creep and continuously reducing lead time. Apply the start with what you do now principle to roll it out with low risk.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing the flow of work, so tasks are only started in response to real demand and capacity. This one-day training teaches you to visualise work, limit work in progress and improve flow in both manufacturing and Agile knowledge-work settings.

    General

What is Kanban and how does this training help?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing the flow of work, so tasks are only started in response to real demand and capacity. This one-day training teaches you to visualise work, limit work in progress and improve flow in both manufacturing and Agile knowledge-work settings.

Is Kanban training worth it for professionals in Uruguay?

Yes. As Montevideo grows as a nearshore technology hub and fintech, logistics and manufacturing firms push for predictable delivery, professionals who can design pull systems, set WIP limits and read flow metrics are in demand. The skills apply the day after the course.

Who should attend the Kanban training?

The course suits Scrum Masters, project and delivery managers, IT and software team leads, production and operations managers, supply chain and logistics professionals, and continuous improvement staff. Anyone responsible for moving work through a system will benefit.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System (kanban cards, supermarkets, sizing and just-in-time pull) and Agile Kanban for knowledge work (Kanban boards, WIP limits, flow metrics, the Cumulative Flow Diagram and Scrumban).

Do I need Lean or Agile experience before joining?

No. There are no prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps for the manufacturing modules, but the course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners can both attend.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training in Uruguay cost?

Fees vary by delivery format (live online, classroom or onsite) and by group size, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to individual or team enrolment in Uruguay.

What is included in the Kanban course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, structured courseware, hands-on exercises, templates, learner support and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask us for the full inclusions for your chosen format.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer customised corporate and group training with volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Uruguay. Request a group quote and we will tailor the schedule and delivery to your organisation.

How do I pay for the training?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the payment option that suits you.

Is the Kanban training a good investment for a team?

For teams that start more work than they finish, the payoff is quicker, more predictable delivery and less inventory or rework. Because it is a single focused day with immediately usable skills, teams typically apply the board and WIP limits right away. Ask about corporate pricing.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on design exercises, case examples and group discussion during the day, so you practise the skills as you learn them.

Do I receive anything on completing the course?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a practical skills programme, so it builds capability you can apply at work rather than preparing you for a formal examination.

How is my learning checked during the training?

Through practical exercises rather than a test: push-versus-pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design, Kanban board and WIP-limit design, and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation applied to realistic scenarios.

What will I be able to do after the course?

You will be able to design a Kanban board, set and manage WIP limits, build a manufacturing pull system with supermarkets and correct sizing, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, read a Cumulative Flow Diagram, and apply Scrumban.

    Is this a certification course?

No. Kanban here is taught as a practical skill, not a credential, so there is no awarding body or examination. You gain hands-on capability in pull systems, WIP limits and flow management that transfers directly to your work.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban training cover?

The day covers six areas: Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge-work Kanban boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

What is a WIP limit and will I learn to set one?

A work-in-progress (WIP) limit is the maximum number of items allowed in a workflow stage at once. It is the feature that makes Kanban work. You will learn why WIP limits improve flow and how to set and adjust them from real flow data.

Does the course cover flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram?
