What Is the PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification?UntitledYour Route to Senior Project Delivery

The PRINCE2 Practitioner (PRINCE2-P) certification validates your ability to apply and tailor the PRINCE2 project management method to the needs of a real project scenario. Enrolling in PRINCE2 Practitioner certification training in Uganda equips project managers to lead structured, controlled project delivery that employers across the country recognise. PRINCE2 is governed by AXELOS and owned and examined by PeopleCert, and the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) manual, Managing Successful Projects, underpins the open-book Practitioner exam. The 8th edition does not exist for PRINCE2; PRINCE2 7 introduces People capability, sustainability and ESG, and digital and data management alongside the seven principles, practices and processes. Whether you are advancing from PRINCE2 Foundation, adding a globally respected credential to a PMP, or stepping up into senior delivery roles in Uganda's donor-funded, banking, telecom, oil and gas or public sector programmes, this training gives you a clear, supported path. Start your PRINCE2 journey with Invensis Learning.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Uganda, approved to deliver official PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification training using accredited courseware and standards.

Where PRINCE2 Can Take Your Career in UgandaRoles, Demand and Pay

PRINCE2 is one of the most sought-after project management methods in Uganda, valued across donor-funded development, banking, telecom, oil and gas, and public sector programmes. As the country scales major projects under Vision 2040 and its oil and gas developments, employers want managers who can govern delivery to a recognised standard. Certified practitioners remain scarce against demand, so credential holders stand out, from project manager to programme and PMO leadership. Here is what the Ugandan market shows.

Delivery style that varies from one project to the next

    Now you have

    Now you have

A clear route into senior project manager, programme and PMO roles

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A credential that travels across sectors and borders

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the advanced PRINCE2 credential that validates your ability to apply and tailor the method to real project scenarios. It is designed for practising and aspiring project managers, PRINCE2 Foundation holders, and PMP holders who want a globally recognised project management qualification.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification and who is it for?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the advanced PRINCE2 credential that validates your ability to apply and tailor the method to real project scenarios. It is designed for practising and aspiring project managers, PRINCE2 Foundation holders, and PMP holders who want a globally recognised project management qualification.

Is PRINCE2 Practitioner worth it for professionals in Uganda?

Yes. PRINCE2 is valued across Uganda's donor-funded, banking, telecom, oil and gas and public sector programmes, where structured delivery is essential. Certified practitioners are scarce against demand, so the credential can open senior project manager, programme and PMO roles that command premium pay.

Who governs PRINCE2 and which edition is current?

PRINCE2 was created by AXELOS and is now owned and examined by PeopleCert. The current edition is PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), based on the Managing Successful Projects manual, which introduces People capability, sustainability and ESG, and digital and data management.

What are the prerequisites for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation certification, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. There is no formal work experience requirement, though the credential is designed for practising or aspiring project managers.

How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification valid?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is valid for three years. You can renew by retaking and passing the Practitioner exam, completing CPD through a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 Practitioner training cost in Uganda?

Training is usually bought as a combined course and exam package, and the price varies by delivery format and provider. Invensis Learning fees are available on request, so contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your chosen mode.

What is included in the PRINCE2 course fee?

The fee typically includes accredited courseware, scenario-based learning, practice questions, mock exams, open-book exam technique practice, learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm exact inclusions for your plan when you request a quote.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

Exam fees are set by PeopleCert and vary by region and purchasing channel. In accredited packages the exam voucher is often bundled with training. Verify the current exam fee on the PeopleCert portal, and ask us whether your package includes it.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, delivery teams and leadership groups across Uganda. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to request a quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The exam is open book, with the Managing Successful Projects manual permitted. It uses scenario-based objective test questions, including multiple choice, matching, sequence and assertion-reason formats, and requires analysis and judgement rather than recall.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PRINCE2 7 Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

The pass mark is 60%, which means you need at least 42 out of 70 marks. Because questions are scenario-based, focus on applying and tailoring the method rather than memorising facts.

Where can I sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam in Uganda?

You can take the exam online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring, available 24 hours a day, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. The exam is usually arranged through an accredited training organisation as part of a training and exam package.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the Practitioner exam. Our training includes scenario practice, mock questions and open-book technique so you are well prepared, and we can guide you on re-sit booking and policy through PeopleCert.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 Practitioner training cover?

The training covers the nine PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus areas: principles, practices, processes, key roles and responsibilities, people management and collaboration, sustainability and ESG, digital and data management, effective communication, and tailoring to your needs.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

You should hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent before the Practitioner course, as it builds on that knowledge. No formal work experience is required, and the scenario-based sessions help you apply the method confidently.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions, mock exams and open-book navigation drills mapped to the Practitioner exam format, helping you find weak areas and build readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the official PeopleCert PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus and Managing Successful Projects manual.

How is the training delivered and how long is it?

The standalone Practitioner course is typically delivered over about 16 hours of instructor-led training, offered as intensive full days or extended half days. You can choose live online, classroom or corporate group formats.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 Practitioner course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style across Uganda.

How soon can I start and when are the schedules?

New batches run regularly across live online and classroom formats. See upcoming schedules on our website, or contact a learning advisor to find a batch that fits your timeline.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact support to arrange this before your session begins.

What support do you provide before and after the exam?

You get trainer-led guidance, scenario practice and post-training support, plus help with exam booking through PeopleCert. Reach out to our team at any stage of your PRINCE2 journey.
