What Is Driving Demand for Programme Leaders in Trinidad and Tobago

    Energy Capital Programme Complexity

LNG and upstream programmes such as Cypre and the cross-border Manatee field run many related projects at once, demanding programme-grade coordination, risk aggregation and benefits tracking.

PgMP builds programme governance and risk skills

    Diversifying Beyond Oil and Gas

As Trinidad and Tobago pushes into technology, creative industries and agriculture, multi-project transformation needs programme leaders who can align delivery to a new economic strategy.

    PgMP builds strategy-to-delivery skills

    Public-Sector Digital Transformation

Government e-services and modernisation span many interdependent projects, and they need strategy-aligned programme delivery, clear governance and measurable benefits to succeed.

PgMP builds benefits and stakeholder skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

The local pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed programme managers. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified programme leaders stand out

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund transformation and capex, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that programme leaders are hired to close.

PgMP builds prioritisation and value skills

    Capital-Discipline Pressure

Energy price cycles and tighter capital push organisations to prioritise ruthlessly, retire low-value work, and govern a balanced set of programmes tied to strategic benefits.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PgMP (Program Management Professional) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It is built for senior project and programme managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and transformation leaders with substantial programme experience.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

PgMP (Program Management Professional) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It is built for senior project and programme managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and transformation leaders with substantial programme experience.

Is the PgMP certification worth it in Trinidad and Tobago?

Yes. PgMP marks you as a senior programme leader for employers across energy, banking, telecoms and the public sector. Senior programme roles in Trinidad and Tobago reach around TT$195,000 a year, and credentialed programme leaders are scarce, so the credential offers a clear career and earning return.

    Is the PgMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide hold it, which makes it a distinctive differentiator for senior programme roles at home and abroad.

What are the prerequisites for the PgMP?

PMI offers three eligibility sets. With a secondary diploma you need four years of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus seven years of programme experience; with a bachelor's degree the programme requirement drops to four years. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

How long is the PgMP valid and how do I renew it?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle, with at least eight PDUs in each area.

What is the difference between the PMP and the PgMP?

The PMP validates managing individual projects, while the PgMP validates managing multiple related projects as a programme to deliver strategic benefits that single projects could not. PgMP is more senior, with more rigorous prerequisites and an additional multi-rater panel review.

    Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Trinidad and Tobago?

PgMP training fees vary by format, from self-paced e-learning to instructor-led and corporate delivery, and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, guidance on the application and panel review, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and it is for reference around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members. PMI membership, around USD 139 a year, lowers the exam fee. Confirm current fees on the PMI store.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PgMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, business units and leadership teams across Trinidad and Tobago. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and our training includes mock exams and practice questions to build readiness. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 multiple-choice questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is closed book and delivered by Pearson VUE, and it is taken after your application is approved and the panel review is passed.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), aligned to the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PgMP exam and what is the panel review?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Before the exam, PgMP candidates also complete a panel review, a multi-rater assessment of documented programme experience; both must be passed to earn the credential.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take the PgMP training?

Anyone can attend the training, but the PgMP credential itself requires substantial programme management experience to apply. The programme suits senior professionals who already lead multiple related projects and want structured preparation for the exam and panel review.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, the panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard and edition is the course based on?

The course is aligned to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, from PMI. The Fourth Edition is the current reference standard, and the training keeps every domain mapped to it.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 170-question, four-hour format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

What learning materials and contact hours do I receive?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, an overview of the 4th edition Standard for Program Management, templates and flashcards, and 24 contact hours of instructor-led training with a completion certificate.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol in the PgMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website and join an upcoming live virtual, classroom or self-paced batch. Choose your format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor to see the next dates.

What training formats are available in Trinidad and Tobago?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning preference.

How do I apply to PMI for the PgMP after training?

After training you submit your PMI application with your education and programme experience, clear the multi-rater panel review, then schedule your exam through Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility period. Our team can guide you through the application and booking steps.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.
