Our PgMP certification training in Chiang Mai prepares experienced managers to move beyond single-project delivery into programme leadership that connects work to organisational strategy. The programme is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), which spans five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance. Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It is designed for programme managers, PMO leaders, directors of delivery and senior PMP holders in Chiang Mai with substantial programme experience.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It is designed for programme managers, PMO leaders, directors of delivery and senior PMP holders in Chiang Mai with substantial programme experience.

Is PgMP worth it for my career in Chiang Mai?

Yes. As Chiang Mai employers in software, healthcare, tourism and the public sector run larger portfolios, credentialed programme leaders stand out. Senior programme roles in Thailand command strong salary bands, and with fewer than 3,000 PgMP holders worldwide the credential is a genuine differentiator.

    Is PgMP recognised internationally?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by senior employers worldwide as a benchmark for programme management excellence. It carries the same international recognition as other PMI certifications across more than 200 countries.

What is the difference between PMP and PgMP?

The PMP validates managing individual projects, while the PgMP validates managing multiple related projects as a programme to deliver strategic benefits that could not be achieved separately. PgMP is a more senior credential with more rigorous prerequisites and an additional panel review.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area.

    Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Chiang Mai?

Instructor-led PgMP training fees vary by format and provider, and cover courseware, practice questions, mock exams, and application and panel-review support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD. For current pricing, request a quote from a learning advisor.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam-simulator access, templates, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Ask us what is included in your chosen plan.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and it is not part of the training fee. PMI membership can reduce the exam fee and gives free access to the Standard for Program Management. Verify current fees on pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing for PgMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, transformation offices and leadership teams in Chiang Mai. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It covers five performance domains and is delivered by Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. Questions are distributed across the five domains: Program Life Cycle Management is the largest at 44 percent, followed by Governance at 18 percent and Stakeholder Engagement at 16 percent.

What are the PgMP eligibility requirements?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months project management experience or a PMP, plus 84 months programme experience. With a four-year degree: 48 months project plus 48 months programme experience. A GAC-accredited degree reduces the programme requirement to 36 months. All within the past 15 years.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential. Our training includes preparation for it.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI permits up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams, domain-wise practice and trainer guidance are designed to build readiness so you can approach the exam with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11 percent), Program Life Cycle Management (44 percent), Benefits Management (11 percent), Stakeholder Engagement (16 percent) and Governance (18 percent), plus application and panel-review preparation.

Which standard is the PgMP training based on?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO). This keeps your preparation matched to what the exam and panel review actually assess.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from this training?

Anyone can attend the training, though the PgMP itself expects substantial project and programme experience. The programme suits senior managers and PMP holders moving into programme roles, and we help you map your experience to PMI's requirements.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the PgMP ECO, so you can identify weak areas across the five domains and build exam readiness before your attempt.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned, which also count as PDUs toward maintaining PMI credentials.
