The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises your ability to identify, assess, respond to and monitor project risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who focus on managing risk on projects and programmes.

Yes. Singapore's regulated financial sector, mega-infrastructure programmes and digital delivery all drive demand for structured risk management. Senior risk roles average around S$202,000 a year, and a specialist PMI credential helps you stand out from general project managers.

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both credentials, as they are complementary, but it is not required to sit the PMI-RMP exam.

The PMP is a broad project management credential covering all knowledge areas, with risk as one component. The PMI-RMP specialises entirely in project risk: strategy, identification, analysis, response and monitoring. Professionals often add the PMI-RMP to prove advanced risk expertise.

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system, then pay the renewal fee.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises your ability to identify, assess, respond to and monitor project risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who focus on managing risk on projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Singapore?

Yes. Singapore's regulated financial sector, mega-infrastructure programmes and digital delivery all drive demand for structured risk management. Senior risk roles average around S$202,000 a year, and a specialist PMI credential helps you stand out from general project managers.

Is the PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both credentials, as they are complementary, but it is not required to sit the PMI-RMP exam.

How is the PMI-RMP different from the PMP?

The PMP is a broad project management credential covering all knowledge areas, with risk as one component. The PMI-RMP specialises entirely in project risk: strategy, identification, analysis, response and monitoring. Professionals often add the PMI-RMP to prove advanced risk expertise.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system, then pay the renewal fee.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Singapore?

Training fees vary by format, whether live virtual, classroom or corporate. The fee covers courseware, 32 contact hours, practice questions and mock exams. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current Singapore pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours that meet PMI's education requirement, practice questions, full-length mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Talk to a learning advisor for the full inclusions.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. It is based on the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. Questions include single-answer and multiple-answer formats across the five risk management domains.

There are five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to build your readiness before you sit the exam.
