    What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

    The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with 115 multiple-choice questions, in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, covering five risk domains, and is delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. The questions are distributed across the five risk domains defined in the current Examination Content Outline.

    What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

    Five domains per the ECO effective January 2022: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). Together they make up the full exam blueprint for project risk.

    What is the passing score for the exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

    What if I do not pass the first time?

    You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer support are designed to prepare you for a first-time pass.

    The course is structured so professionals new to formal risk management can follow it, though the PMI-RMP exam itself requires project risk experience. The training builds concepts step by step and provides hands-on practice, so you can apply techniques with confidence.

    What risk tools and techniques will I learn?

    You will learn identification tools such as brainstorming, the Delphi technique and SWOT, plus analysis techniques including probability and impact matrices, Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value, and response and monitoring methods.

    Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-RMP syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering all five current domains.

    Does this training meet the PMI education requirement?

    Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for degree-holding candidates. Candidates applying with a secondary diploma need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

    Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires either a secondary diploma with 36 months of project risk experience and 40 hours of education, or a four-year degree with 24 months of experience and 30 hours of education (12 months with a GAC-accredited degree).
