Why Lean Six Sigma Skills Are in Demand Across the Netherlands

Tight Labour Market and Productivity Pressure

With Dutch employers facing labour shortages, raising output without adding headcount is critical. DMAIC-trained professionals who can remove waste and improve flow are in strong demand.

Green Belt builds data-driven efficiency skills

    High-Tech and Semiconductor Quality Demands

The Brainport high-tech and semiconductor cluster works to exacting quality tolerances. Certified Green Belts who can apply measurement system analysis and process control help keep defects low.

Green Belt builds process control capability

    Energy Costs and Sustainability Targets

Energy prices and climate goals push Dutch manufacturers and logistics firms to cut waste and rework. Lean Six Sigma gives professionals the tools to reduce consumption and improve yield.

    Green Belt builds waste-reduction skills

    Service Sector Process Complexity

Banks, insurers and shared service centres in the Netherlands face errors and delays in high-volume processes. DMAIC methods help service teams standardise work and improve customer outcomes.

Green Belt builds DMAIC problem-solving skills

    Shortage of Certified Improvement Talent

Employers want proof of improvement capability, not just experience. An independent IASSC credential makes certified Green Belts easier to hire and quicker to trust on live projects.

Green Belt makes certified professionals stand out

Margin Pressure in Manufacturing and Logistics

Cost and competition squeeze margins across Dutch industry. Organisations rely on continuous improvement professionals to find savings, raise throughput and rebalance work to value.

Passed over for roles that list Lean Six Sigma as preferred

    After Green Belt

Eligible for Green Belt, CI and operational excellence roles across high-tech, food and finance

Confident in the work, but without data-driven proof

    After Green Belt

Fluent in DMAIC, statistics and process control that employers want

    You earn your Green Belt

Improvement work depends on instinct, not a proven method

    Now you have

A structured DMAIC approach backed by a globally recognised IASSC credential

    Before

Your improvement skills are hard to prove to employers

    Now you have

An independent IASSC validation that Dutch employers recognise

    Before

Limited to supporting projects that others lead

    Now you have

The confidence to lead or co-lead scoped improvement projects

    Before

Recognition limited when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A credential that travels across sectors and across Europe

"The gap between doing the work and proving you can improve it is a recognised credential, and the employers that matter already know it."

    General

What is the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification?

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is an intermediate process improvement credential awarded against the IASSC Body of Knowledge. It validates your ability to apply the DMAIC method to reduce defects and waste, and suits quality, operations and continuous improvement professionals in the Netherlands.

Is the Green Belt certification worth it in the Netherlands?

Yes. Green Belt skills map to in-demand, well-paid roles such as Continuous Improvement Manager and Operational Excellence Manager, where Dutch salaries commonly range from EUR 65,000 to over EUR 100,000. It is a recognised, data-driven credential employers value across sectors.

Who should take this Green Belt training?

It suits quality engineers, analysts, team leads, operations staff and anyone leading or supporting improvement projects. There are no prerequisites, so professionals from manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, finance and the public sector can all enrol.

Do I need prior experience or a Yellow Belt?

No. The governing body sets no prerequisites for the Green Belt, so prior experience or a Yellow Belt is recommended but not required. The training builds the concepts from the ground up, so beginners and experienced professionals can both follow it.

How long is the certification valid?

An IASSC Green Belt holds Current status for three years from your certification date. To stay current you pass a recertification exam of 75 questions in two hours, with a minimum 70 per cent score, before your status elapses.

Which body governs the Green Belt certification?

The certification is governed by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), now part of PeopleCert. It provides an independent, vendor-neutral standard recognised by employers worldwide.

    Pricing

What is included in the Green Belt training fee?

The fee covers accredited instructor-led training across all five DMAIC phases, courseware, practice questions and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. The exam voucher is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing in the Netherlands.

How much does the training cost in the Netherlands?

Pricing depends on the format you choose, live online or classroom, and any group booking. We quote training in euros for the Netherlands. Contact a learning advisor or request a quote for the latest pricing and upcoming batches.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The IASSC exam voucher is purchased separately and billed in USD under regional pricing, so the amount varies by location. Confirm the current voucher fee with IASSC before you book your exam.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for your organisation in the Netherlands.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the exam first time?

You can retake the Green Belt exam by purchasing another voucher. Our training, practice questions and mock assessments are designed to build readiness so you walk in prepared, and our team supports you through your preparation.

What is the format of the Green Belt exam?

The IASSC Green Belt (ICGB) exam is closed book, with multiple-choice and true or false questions. It is delivered online with proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and covers all five DMAIC phases.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 100 questions and an allotted time of three hours. Some forms include up to 10 additional unscored questions that do not count towards your result.

What is the passing score for the exam?

You need a minimum of 385 points out of 550 to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so aim for broad competence rather than one strong area.

Are there eligibility requirements to sit the exam?

No. There is no formal education, work experience or training requirement to sit the Green Belt exam, though training and project experience are recommended. Anyone can register for the exam.

What is the exam application process?

You purchase the exam voucher from IASSC, choose online proctored delivery or a Pearson VUE test centre, then schedule and sit the closed-book exam. After passing you receive a certificate, a digital badge and a listing in the official certification register.
