Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It suits experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals who want globally recognised proof of their capability.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It suits experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals who want globally recognised proof of their capability.

Is PMP certification worth it in Malaysia?

Yes. Certified holders in Malaysia earn a clear premium, around 33% more than non-certified peers, and PMP is increasingly listed as mandatory for senior roles at MNCs and GLCs. It opens project manager, programme manager and PMO positions across energy, banking, telecoms and digital sectors. Speak with a learning advisor to plan your route.

Is the PMP recognised in Malaysia and worldwide?

Yes. PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is valued by employers across Malaysia and globally. It appears in job specifications, procurement requirements and client contracts, making it one of the most portable project management credentials you can hold.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary school diploma you need 60 months leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours. The training provides the education hours you need to apply.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

The PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across PMI's Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Malaysia?

Training fees vary by format, such as live online, classroom or corporate group training. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Contact us for current pricing and request a quote for your preferred format.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, the contact hours you need to apply, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application support and a course completion certificate, plus learner support throughout your preparation.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and Agile Practice Guide. Confirm current fees on the PMI store before you apply.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams, PMOs and business units. It can be delivered onsite, live virtual or hybrid across Malaysia. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that best suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP is a closed-book exam using multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions. You sit it online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The result is reported using a psychometrically determined passing standard.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. The questions are scenario-based, testing how you apply project management principles rather than pure recall.

What domains does the updated PMP exam cover?

The updated exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, spans five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies, Agile Frameworks, Business Analysis and Strategic Management, and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication. Roughly half the content covers agile or hybrid delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our preparation, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to help you pass on the first sitting, and selected plans include retake support so you can prepare again with confidence.

Which edition is the PMP exam based on?

The current exam is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and PMI's updated PMP Examination Content Outline. Our courseware reflects this latest standard, covering both predictive and agile approaches in the balance the exam expects.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMP training cover?

The training covers the five domains of the updated exam: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based delivery, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement and communication, all mapped to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, plus exam strategy.

Does the course cover agile as well as predictive delivery?

Yes. About half the exam and the training covers agile and hybrid approaches, including Scrum, Kanban, backlogs, sprints and burndown charts, alongside predictive tools such as the work breakdown structure, critical path method and earned value management.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, chapter-wise quizzes and flashcards, plus references to the updated Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

Can a beginner take this course or do I need experience?

Anyone can enrol in the training, and it is structured to build understanding step by step. To sit the PMP exam, however, PMI requires you to meet its experience and education prerequisites. Our team can help you check your eligibility before you apply.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's updated PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, so you prepare against the current standard rather than an older version of the exam.
