Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead predictive, agile and hybrid projects and is ideal for experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals in Kuala Lumpur.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead predictive, agile and hybrid projects and is ideal for experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals in Kuala Lumpur.

Is the PMP worth it in Malaysia?

Yes. PMP-certified project managers in Malaysia earn around RM 39,600 more a year than non-certified peers, and many MNCs and government-linked companies now list the credential as mandatory for senior roles. It is a strong return on a short, focused investment. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Which standard is the PMP based on?

The PMP is built on the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the PMP Examination Content Outline published by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Around half the exam covers predictive delivery and half covers agile and hybrid approaches.

    Is the PMP recognised internationally?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in more than 200 countries and is widely regarded as the global gold standard of project management certification, referenced in job specifications, client contracts and government procurement worldwide.

How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMP is valid for three years. You renew it by earning 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, and reporting them through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Kuala Lumpur?

PMP training fees in Kuala Lumpur vary by format and provider, and instructor-led programmes are quoted on request. The fee covers PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours, mock exams and trainer support. Request a quote for current batch pricing.

Is the PMP exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, currently around USD 405 for members and USD 555 for non-members. Verify the latest fee on pmi.org before you apply.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate.

Does PMI membership reduce the cost?

Yes. PMI individual membership, around USD 139 a year, lowers the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide, which can offset much of the membership cost.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for teams across Malaysia. Talk to a learning advisor for a group quote.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The PMP exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute breaks. It uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank formats.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP?

There are two paths: a four-year degree with 36 months leading projects, or a secondary diploma with 60 months leading projects. Both require 35 contact hours of project management education, which this training provides.

Where can I take the PMP exam in Kuala Lumpur?

You can sit the exam at a Pearson VUE test centre in Kuala Lumpur or online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office. You schedule it through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website.

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement across the performance domains.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes mock exams and revision support to help you prepare thoroughly, and PMI reexamination fees apply to further attempts.

Does the PMP exam cover agile?

Yes. Around half the PMP exam covers agile and hybrid approaches alongside predictive delivery, reflecting the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and how projects are run today.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMP training?

You will learn to lead projects end to end across the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition performance areas: fundamentals, predictive delivery, agile and hybrid frameworks, business analysis and stakeholder engagement, plus full exam preparation.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

You can join the training at any level, but sitting the PMP exam requires project leadership experience. The programme suits practitioners building towards the credential and gives newcomers a strong grounding in method.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMP Examination Content Outline, practice questions, an exam simulator, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes.

Are mock exams and practice tests included?

Yes. The programme includes full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and hundreds of practice questions mapped to the exam content outline to help you find and close gaps.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMP syllabus?
