With a GAC-accredited degree: 12 months plus 30 hours. Experience must be specifically in project risk management.

    Do I need PMP before taking PMI-RMP?

    No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders carry both because the credentials complement each other.

    How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how is it renewed?

    PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.
