Is PMP required before PgMP?

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, within the three-year CCR cycle.

How much does PgMP training cost in Malaysia?

PgMP training fees vary by format and delivery, and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for the option that suits you.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

For reference, the PMI exam fee is around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org before applying. PMI membership can lower the exam cost and gives access to The Standard for Program Management.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level performance feedback.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%).

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed numeric pass mark. The passing score is psychometrically determined, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement per domain, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PgMP panel review and how many attempts do I get?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment where programme management practitioners evaluate your documented experience; it must be passed alongside the exam. You have up to three exam attempts within the one-year eligibility window.

The training covers all five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus application, panel-review and exam strategy.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Program Management, 4th Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 170-question, four-hour format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build readiness.

Do I need prior experience to take PgMP training?

Anyone can attend the training, but the PgMP exam requires substantial experience. Depending on your education, PMI requires several years of project and programme management experience within the last 15 years, plus a panel review.

What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Program Management overview, templates, flashcards and chapter-wise quizzes.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP?

PMI offers three eligibility sets. For example, with a bachelor's degree you need 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 48 months of programme management experience within the last 15 years, and you must pass the panel review.
