    General

Is the PMI-RMP certification worth it in Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. PMI-RMP is a globally recognised PMI credential that marks you as a project risk specialist, which is valued across Kuala Lumpur's energy, construction, banking and technology sectors. Certified risk professionals report a pay premium of up to 20 per cent, and senior risk roles in Malaysia average around RM 143,000 a year.

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, covering the identification, assessment, response and monitoring of risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who manage risk on complex projects and programmes.

Is PMP required before taking PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both, as the two credentials are complementary, but PMI-RMP stands on its own as a specialist qualification.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

PMI-RMP is valid for three years from your certification date. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide and is particularly valued in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, defence and financial services, where formal project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours, or 150 minutes, to complete it. The questions are distributed across the five risk management domains defined in the current ECO.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains in the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20 per cent), Risk Identification (20 per cent), Risk Analysis (23 per cent), Risk Response (22 per cent) and Monitor and Close Risks (15 per cent).

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams mapped to the exam format to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce the fear of failure.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PMI-RMP training?

The training covers the five ECO domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It includes qualitative and quantitative tools such as the probability and impact matrix, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees and expected monetary value.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of three sets, ranging from 12 to 36 months of experience depending on your qualification. Our team can help you check which set applies to you.

Does the training cover agile and hybrid projects?

Yes. The current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline incorporates predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and the training reflects that scope so you can manage risk across any delivery environment.

Does this training meet the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully meets the 30-hour risk education requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk management education to meet the requirement.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 115-question format, plus topic-wise quizzes, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before you sit the real exam.
