    Is Jira training worth it for my career in the Maldives?

    Yes. Jira is the default Agile delivery tool for Maldivian software houses, banks, telecoms and resort technology teams, so confident Jira skills help you stand out for roles such as Scrum Master, Business Analyst and Jira Administrator, and apply your skills from day one.

    Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

    Choose Fundamentals (2 days) if you are new to Jira or use it occasionally and want a solid base in projects, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards and basic JQL. Choose Advanced (3 days) if you already use Jira and want workflows, schemes, automation, advanced JQL and administration. You can take either or both.

    What platform does the training cover?

    The training covers Atlassian Jira, delivered mainly as Jira Cloud, with Jira Data Center for self-managed enterprises. You practise Jira Software features such as Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, JQL and, at the Advanced level, administration.

    Do I need prior experience to join?

    No prior Jira experience is needed for Fundamentals; basic familiarity with web applications is enough. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

    Is there an exam or certification for this course?

    There is no formal assessment. You build proficiency by working through realistic Jira exercises and configuration activities alongside the trainer, applying each feature as it is taught.

    Yes. Because the course is hands-on, you finish able to create projects, manage issues, run sprints and Kanban boards, write JQL and build reports, and at the Advanced level configure workflows, automation and administration.

    Course Content

    What will I learn in the Fundamentals level?

    You will learn to navigate Jira, create Scrum, Kanban and Business projects, manage the Epic to Sub-task hierarchy, run sprints, use Kanban boards with WIP limits, plan roadmaps and versions, and build filters, basic JQL and Agile reports.

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    The Advanced level covers custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, DevOps and Confluence integrations, and Jira administration.

    How long is each level and how are hours delivered?

    Fundamentals runs 2 days for 16 hours in total, and Advanced runs 3 days for 24 hours in total. Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats to fit working schedules.

    Are the sessions hands-on?

    Yes. Both levels are delivered with live instructor demonstration and hands-on exercises on real Jira boards, using realistic Agile delivery scenarios so you practise every feature as you learn it.

    Does the course cover JQL and automation?

    Yes. Fundamentals covers filters and basic JQL. Advanced goes deeper into advanced JQL, including CHANGED and WAS operators, and Jira automation rules with triggers, conditions, actions and smart values.
