    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam is an open-book, multiple-choice examination taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course. It has 50 questions and no proctor is required.

    How long is the CSM exam and what is the pass mark?

    You have 60 minutes to answer the 50 questions. The passing score is 74 percent, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly.

    How many attempts do I get for the CSM exam?

    Candidates typically have up to three attempts to pass the CSM exam within 90 days of completing the course. Because the exam is open book, most well-prepared learners pass on their first attempt.

    Do I have to attend a course before sitting the exam?

    Yes. Attendance at an approved CSM course delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer is mandatory. The online exam is unlocked only after you complete the course.

    Which standard is the CSM exam based on?
