Assessment

Is there an exam for the RCA training?

No. This is a practical skills programme with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on tool exercises, case-study investigations and team discussion, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning at the end.

Will I receive anything on completion?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It recognises that you have covered the full RCA toolkit and practised each tool on realistic problem scenarios.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each tool as you learn it, through an Is / Is Not exercise, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop and a full 8D report on a realistic scenario, so you build confidence by doing rather than by sitting a test.

Will I be able to run investigations at work afterwards?

Yes. By the end you can write a precise problem statement, run a 5 Whys or Fishbone session, apply Fault Tree Analysis, complete an 8D report, and develop and verify corrective actions. These skills apply immediately to defects, complaints, safety incidents and process failures.

Are there any prerequisites before I attend?

There are no prerequisites. The programme is open to all and teaches every tool from first principles, so quality professionals, supervisors, engineers and team leaders can all take part regardless of prior training. Some familiarity with quality concepts is helpful but not required.
