    No. Design for Six Sigma training is a practical skills course with no awarding body and no formal credential. On finishing the one-day programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning, and the DFSS skills you gain apply immediately to design projects.

    You apply each DMADV tool as you learn it. Guided exercises take you through voice of the customer capture, CTQ flow-down, building a QFD House of Quality, a Pugh concept selection and a Design FMEA, all using realistic product and process scenarios.

    What topics does the Design for Six Sigma course cover?

    The course covers six modules across the full DMADV roadmap: an introduction to DFSS versus DMAIC, the Define phase with voice of the customer and Kano analysis, the Measure phase with CTQ flow-down and QFD, the Analyse phase with concept selection and DFMEA, the Design phase with robust design and DFMA, and the Verify phase with design verification, validation and transfer.

    What DFSS tools will I practise?

    You practise the core DFSS toolkit: voice of the customer capture and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, the QFD House of Quality, the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with Risk Priority Number scoring, the P-diagram, and the design scorecard.

    How long is the training?

    The programme runs for one day, totalling eight hours. It can also be delivered as two half-day sessions of four hours each. Both formats cover all six DMADV modules with hands-on exercises throughout.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

    Yes. Hands-on tool exercises run throughout the day. You apply voice of the customer, CTQ flow-down, QFD, the Pugh matrix and DFMEA to realistic product and process design scenarios, so you leave able to use the tools at work.

    What is the DMADV roadmap?

    DMADV is the most widely used DFSS roadmap. It has five phases: Define the project and customer requirements, Measure needs and translate them into CTQs, Analyse and select design concepts, Design and optimise for robustness, and Verify the design against requirements before transfer to production.
