IT Challenges Fuelling SIAM Demand in Japan

    The 2025 Digital Cliff

METI warns Japan could lose up to JPY 12 trillion a year if legacy systems are not modernised. Untangling these programmes across many suppliers demands SIAM governance.

    SIAM builds multi-supplier governance skills

    Legacy System Complexity

Around 80% of Japanese enterprise systems are heavily customised legacy estates. Modernising them means coordinating multiple vendors, exactly what SIAM is built to govern.

    SIAM builds cross-provider integration skills

    Multi-Layer Prime-Vendor Sourcing

Japanese firms rely on prime vendors with third and fourth-tier subcontracting. Without a service integrator, accountability blurs across the supplier chain.

    SIAM builds service integrator capability

    The IT Talent Shortage

A projected shortfall of about 430,000 IT professionals leaves enterprises short of governance skills. Certified SIAM leaders help do more with fewer, better-coordinated suppliers.

SIAM makes certified leaders stand out

    Stalled DX Programmes

Only about 30% of Japanese firms rate their DX as successful. Weak cross-provider coordination causes value leakage that service integration is designed to fix.

    SIAM builds value-realisation skills

    Expanding Cloud and Security Ecosystems

Cloud, cybersecurity and infrastructure outsourcing keep adding suppliers. SIAM practices bring end-to-end control across a growing, mixed provider landscape.
