    Is there an exam for the QFD course?

    No. QFD training is a practical, non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

    Do I receive a certificate after the training?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. This is a record of attendance and participation, not a formal credential from an awarding body, because QFD training is a skills course rather than a certification.

    Is QFD an accredited qualification?

    No. QFD is an established methodology with no single governing body and no formal awarding body for the training. The value is in the practical House of Quality skills you gain and apply, which do not expire or need renewal.

    How is my learning assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build and interpret real House of Quality matrices through hands-on exercises and team activities, so you leave able to apply the method on your own products and services.

    Will this help with my Six Sigma or DFSS work?

    Yes. QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma (the DMADV Measure phase) and in the DMAIC Define phase, where it translates the voice of the customer into critical-to-quality requirements. The skills transfer directly to Green Belt and Black Belt projects.

    What will I learn in the QFD training?

    You will learn to capture and structure the voice of the customer, build all six rooms of the House of Quality, resolve design trade-offs with the correlation roof, set engineering targets, and cascade requirements through product, parts, process and production planning.

    What is the House of Quality?

    The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to engineering characteristics, rates the strength of each relationship, benchmarks competitors, flags design conflicts in the roof, and sets measurable engineering targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

    Does the course cover all four phases of QFD?

    Yes. The programme covers the full four-phase QFD system: product planning (the House of Quality), parts deployment, process planning and production planning, so you can trace a customer requirement all the way to a production control.

    Is QFD useful for services and software, not just manufacturing?

    Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers applications in services, healthcare, financial services and software. The House of Quality applies wherever customer requirements must be translated into design or delivery specifications.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

    Yes. Hands-on House of Quality construction runs throughout the day, including voice-of-customer structuring, Kano classification, building a full matrix from a realistic scenario, and calculating column importance to identify design priorities.
