    The IASSC Green Belt certification is valid for three years from the date you earn it. After that, you can take the recertification exam to maintain current status.

    What is the format of the Green Belt exam?

    The exam is a closed-book test of 100 questions using multiple-choice and true or false formats. Some forms include up to 10 additional unscored questions. It is delivered online with proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

    You have three hours to complete the exam. To pass, you must achieve a minimum of 385 points out of 550. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases.

    Are there any eligibility requirements for the exam?

    No formal prerequisites are required. Training and real-world project experience are recommended but not mandatory, so anyone can prepare for and sit the Green Belt exam.

    The training covers all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. You learn process mapping, statistics, measurement system analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, statistical process control and Lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping and Kanban.

    Can a beginner take this course?

    Yes. The programme starts with the fundamentals and builds the statistical and Lean concepts step by step. No prior Six Sigma knowledge is required, and trainers support you through the more technical topics with worked examples.

    How long is the training?

    The programme runs for 32 hours of instructor-led learning, delivered in flexible formats such as full-day or extended part-day schedules to suit working professionals and teams.

    Are there practice questions and hands-on exercises?

    Yes. The course includes practice questions aligned to the exam format plus project-based exercises that let you apply DMAIC tools to realistic scenarios, so you build skills you can use at work.

    Is the courseware aligned with the current syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge, which structures the credential around the five DMAIC phases assessed in the exam.
