    Assessment

    Is there an exam at the end of the training?

    No. Neither the Fundamentals nor the Advanced level includes an examination. This is a non-certification course, so learning is assessed through practical, hands-on Microsoft Project exercises worked throughout the sessions.

    How is my learning assessed during the course?

    Learning is reinforced through live exercises using realistic project scenarios. You build a schedule step by step, so you practise each feature as the trainer demonstrates it, from setup and dependencies to baselines, tracking and reporting.

    Do I receive a certificate after completing the training?

    Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning once you complete the programme. It recognises that you attended the training and practised the Microsoft Project skills covered at your chosen level.

    Will I be able to use Microsoft Project confidently afterwards?

    Yes. The course is built around practice, so you leave able to create schedules, link tasks, assign resources, set baselines, track progress and generate reports. Advanced learners can also apply Earned Value, custom views and multi-project management.

    Can this training support my wider project management goals?

    Yes. Microsoft Project is the scheduling tool used by many PMP, PRINCE2 and agile practitioners. The training complements those methodologies by giving you the software skills to put project planning and control into practice.

    Course Content

    What topics are covered in the Fundamentals level?

    Fundamentals covers project setup and calendars, building the work breakdown structure, task dependencies and the critical path, work, material and cost resources, over-allocation, baselines, progress tracking and built-in reports. It runs over 2 days (16 hours).

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers task types, advanced scheduling, resource pools and levelling, cost management, Earned Value (SPI, CPI, EAC), custom fields, views and reports, master projects, cross-project dependencies and what-if analysis. It runs over 3 days (24 hours).

    Are the sessions hands-on or theory based?

    They are hands-on. You follow along in Microsoft Project as the trainer demonstrates each feature, working realistic project scenarios so you build practical proficiency rather than just learning concepts.

    Is the training based on the current Microsoft Project?

    Yes. The course covers Microsoft Project as used today, including the desktop application and Project Online as part of Microsoft 365, so the skills apply directly to the versions employers use.

    Can beginners follow the course?

    Yes. The Fundamentals level is designed for people new to Microsoft Project, with step-by-step exercises and trainer support throughout. No prior scheduling software experience is required to get started.
