What Is the PMI Construction Professional Credential?UntitledBuilt for Construction Project Leaders

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry, validating your ability to deliver complex projects across four exam domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Built on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the current PMBOK Guide, the credential is designed for construction project managers, site and project engineers, and owner's representatives who want globally recognised proof of construction delivery expertise. In Italy, where PNRR funding and megaprojects such as the Messina Strait Bridge and high-speed rail are reshaping the market, employers increasingly value professionals who can manage contracts, engage stakeholders and govern projects to time, budget and quality. Uniquely, the credential requires you to complete four self-paced foundational modules, worth 56 PDUs in total, before you apply, alongside your construction project management experience. Start your PMI-CP journey with Invensis Learning and turn hands-on delivery into a credential the world's leading contractors recognise.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Italy?

Training fees vary by format, whether live online, classroom or corporate group training. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training price. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches in Italy, or talk to a learning advisor.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours toward the education requirement.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD and it varies by region. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members. Membership can lower the exam and renewal costs. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction teams, site teams and PMOs. Ask about corporate or group pricing and we will tailor a quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the payment option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. Results are reported with domain-level feedback rather than a fixed percentage score.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers four domains: Contracts Management at 50%, Stakeholder Engagement at 30%, Strategy and Scope Management at 15%, and Project Governance at 5%. The heavy weighting on contracts reflects the central role of contract and claims management in construction.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain performance feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and domain-focused practice are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for a first-time pass.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, you must complete four self-paced modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total, and each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. It spans contract types, administration, claims, stakeholder and communications management, scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and governance, plus exam strategy.

Can a beginner or new construction PM take this?

The training is open to enrol, and it suits professionals building construction project management skills. To sit the exam, PMI requires construction project management experience and 35 contact hours of PM education, so it is best suited to practitioners rather than complete beginners.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, practice questions mapped to the exam, mock exams, templates and quizzes, along with guidance on completing the four prerequisite modules.

Which standard is the courseware aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the PMBOK Guide, together with construction industry standards and practices referenced by PMI for construction project management.

Will I get a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with contact hours that count toward the 35 hours of project management education required for the PMI-CP application.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

You must complete the four prerequisite modules and meet one of three sets: Set A, a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience; Set B, a bachelor's degree with 36 months; or Set C, a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All sets need 35 contact hours of PM education.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and team. See upcoming schedules for available batches in Italy.

How soon can I start the training?

New batches run regularly across live online and classroom formats, and self-paced options let you start immediately. Check the upcoming schedules or ask an advisor about the next available cohort in Italy.

What is the refund or reschedule policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch. Selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Contact our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
