    After PMI-CP

    Before

Boxed into a single project type or contractor

    Now you have

A clear route into contracts manager, programme manager and project director roles

    Before

Contract disputes and scope creep handled reactively

    Now you have

The skills to govern contracts, claims and change proactively

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change employer or country

    Now you have

A credential that travels across Italy and international construction markets

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment. It suits construction project managers, site managers, quantity surveyors, owner's representatives and PMP holders specialising in construction.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PMI-CP training in Rome?

Invensis Learning is a PMI Authorized Training Partner offering PMI-aligned courseware, accredited trainers, flexible delivery and guidance on the four mandatory prerequisite modules and the exam. This helps you move from learning to certification with a clear, supported path.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Rome and internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network across more than 200 countries. In Rome it is valued by infrastructure, EPC, energy and public-sector employers delivering PNRR, metro and regeneration works.

What are the prerequisites for PMI-CP?

PMI-CP has two parts. First, complete all four mandatory self-paced modules. Second, meet one of three experience sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each with 35 contact hours of PM education.

Is PMP required before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary, however, with PMP validating broad PM competency and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Rome?

PMI-CP training fees vary by format and provider, so pricing is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current options.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the exam application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, with member and non-member rates. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives access to PMI resources. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes. The questions are distributed across the four ECO domains.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline covers four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts management is the largest, reflecting the centrality of contracts in construction delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to help you prepare for a first-time pass.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. You learn contract and delivery methods, variation and claims, stakeholder engagement, scope, schedule, risk, quality and governance.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying you must complete four self-paced modules in any order, each awarding 14 PDUs: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Together they award 56 PDUs applicable to renewal.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of PM education PMI requires across all eligibility sets. Check with our team on how supplementary self-study or pre-reading can be credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.
