Is the PfMP worth it for professionals in Italy?

Is the PfMP recognised in Italy?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PfMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries and is valued by leading Italian and multinational employers that run large project portfolios.

How long is the PfMP valid and how do I renew it?

PfMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

Do I need PMP or PgMP before taking PfMP?

No. Neither PMP nor PgMP is a prerequisite for PfMP. Eligibility is based on your business and portfolio management experience, although many senior candidates hold one or both credentials.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented portfolio experience. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

How much does PfMP training cost in Italy?

Training in Italy is quoted in euros and varies by format and batch, so pricing is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training fee. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

How much is the PfMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can lower both the exam fee and renewal costs.

What if I do not pass the PfMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and our training includes mock exams and prep support to build readiness. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. Results are reported with domain-level performance feedback.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%).

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported as above target, target, below target or needs improvement per domain, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PfMP exam?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, including centres in Italy. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

Anyone can attend the training, but sitting the PfMP exam requires substantial experience. PMI asks for 120 months of professional business experience plus portfolio management experience within the last 15 years. The training prepares you for the exam and panel review.
