The Planning Gaps Driving Demand for P6 Skills in Italy

    Schedule Complexity on Mega-Projects

PNRR rail and energy programmes run thousands of interdependent activities. Without disciplined P6 critical-path scheduling, delays and cost overruns compound fast across the portfolio.

    P6 builds critical-path scheduling skills

    Contractual Scheduling Requirements

EPC and infrastructure contracts in Italy specify Primavera P6 schedules and updates by name, so teams without fluent P6 users struggle to meet submission and reporting obligations.

P6 builds schedule submission and update skills

Weak Earned Value and Cost Control

Boards fund large capex programmes, but many sites cannot link schedule to cost. P6 cost loading and earned value give the controls layer employers now demand.

P6 builds cost-loading and earned value skills

    Planner Talent Scarcity

Italy has plenty of engineers but few practitioners who can resource-load, baseline and analyse a P6 schedule to project-controls standard, making the skill scarce and valued.

P6 makes skilled planners stand out

    Spreadsheet-Bound Planning

Teams still tracking works in spreadsheets lose sight of float, resource conflicts and variance. Moving to P6 restores visibility and control across concurrent projects.

    P6 restores control across projects

    Energy Transition Delivery Pressure

Italy's 70 GW renewables target and grid upgrades add a heavy pipeline of parallel projects that need portfolio-grade P6 scheduling and coordinated risk management.

    General

What is Oracle Primavera P6 training?

Oracle Primavera P6 training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource-load and control projects using Oracle Primavera P6, the enterprise scheduling application from Oracle Corporation. It runs at two levels: Fundamentals for new users and Advanced for experienced practitioners.

Who should take the Primavera P6 course in Italy?

The course suits project planners, schedulers, project engineers, project controls engineers, programme managers and PMO staff who plan or control projects. It is especially relevant in Italy's construction, energy, rail and EPC sectors, where P6 is the standard scheduling tool.

Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Choose Fundamentals if you are new to Primavera P6 or use it only occasionally and want a solid scheduling foundation. Choose Advanced if you already use P6 and want to master resource and cost loading, earned value, multi-project control and custom reporting. You can take either level or both in sequence.

Is Primavera P6 training worth it in Italy?

Yes. Primavera P6 is specified by name on many Italian EPC and infrastructure contracts, and PNRR-funded rail and energy programmes are driving strong demand for skilled planners. P6 fluency is a portable, in-demand skill that improves your standing for planner and project-controls roles.

Which version of Primavera P6 does the course use?

The training covers the current version of Oracle Primavera P6, including the P6 Professional desktop client and the P6 EPPM web platform. The core skills of scheduling, resource loading, baselining and earned value apply across recent P6 releases.

    Pricing

How much does Primavera P6 training cost in Italy?

Fees depend on the level (Fundamentals or Advanced), the delivery mode and group size, so pricing is available on request. Share your preferred level and format and a learning advisor will provide a tailored quote. Ask about corporate rates for team training.

What is included in the P6 course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises, structured courseware and learning resources, and post-training support. Exact inclusions vary by level and format. Request a quote to confirm what is covered for your chosen option.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for planning and project-controls teams. It can be delivered onsite, live virtual or blended. Contact us for a group quote tailored to your team.

Is Oracle Primavera P6 software included in the fee?

Oracle Primavera P6 is a separate commercial product from Oracle Corporation and is not part of the training fee. You should have P6 access before the course. Ask us whether a training environment is available for your session when you request a quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you or your organisation.

    Assessment

Is there a test at the end of the Primavera P6 course?

No. This is a practical skills course, so there is no formal test or external credential. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Primavera P6 exercises throughout each session, so you build real proficiency as you go.

How is learning assessed during the training?

Learning is applied rather than tested. You work through realistic project scenarios in P6, building schedules, resource loading, baselines and reports under trainer guidance, so you can demonstrate the skills directly in your own work afterwards.

Do I receive anything on completing the course?

Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the training. This confirms the skills programme you completed; it is not a formal credential, as Primavera P6 training is a practical skills course.

Do I need Primavera P6 installed before the training?

Yes. You should have Oracle Primavera P6 (P6 Professional or P6 EPPM) installed and accessible before the sessions so you can follow the hands-on exercises. Ask us whether a training environment is provided for your chosen delivery when you enrol.

What experience do I need before the Advanced level?

For the Advanced level you should have completed the Primavera P6 Fundamentals course or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience. The Fundamentals level has no prerequisites; basic familiarity with project scheduling is helpful but not required.

    Course Content

What topics does the Primavera P6 course cover?

Fundamentals covers the P6 enterprise structure (EPS, OBS, WBS), activities and calendars, relationships, scheduling, critical path and float, resource assignment, baselines and progress tracking. Advanced adds cost loading, earned value, baseline comparison, multi-project control and custom reporting.

What will I be able to do after Fundamentals?

After Fundamentals you can navigate the P6 interface, build a project and activity list, create relationships, run the scheduler, interpret the critical path and float, assign resources, set a baseline, update progress and produce basic layouts and reports.

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced adds advanced scheduling options, resource and cost loading, cost accounts, earned value metrics such as SPI and CPI, baseline comparison and Claim Digger, multi-project and portfolio management, and custom layouts, filters and reports with Excel integration.

    Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are delivered with live Primavera P6 exercises throughout. You follow along in P6 as the trainer demonstrates each feature, then practise on realistic construction, engineering and capital-project scenarios to build genuine proficiency.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, guided P6 exercises and reference resources that support each module. Exact materials vary by level and delivery format. Ask a learning advisor for the specific inclusions for your chosen session.
