    Is learning Jira worth it for a career in Italy?

    Yes. Jira is the default delivery tool across Italy's software, consulting, banking and telecoms sectors, and Agile adoption is accelerating under the PNRR digital drive. Confident Jira skills support roles such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Project Manager and Jira Administrator, which are in strong demand, especially in Milan.

    What are the two levels of the JIRA course?

    The training runs at two levels. Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) is for new or occasional users and covers projects, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, filters and basic JQL. Advanced (3 days, 24 hours) covers workflow design, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, integrations and Jira administration.

    Do I need Jira experience before starting?

    No prior Jira experience is needed for the Fundamentals level; basic familiarity with web applications is enough. For the Advanced level, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience, as it moves quickly into configuration and administration.

    Which version of Jira does the course use?

    The training is delivered on Jira Cloud, Atlassian's current primary platform, using live exercises throughout. The skills also transfer to Jira Data Center, and the course notes where the two differ so you can apply what you learn in your own environment.

    Do I need to buy Jira to attend?

    You should have access to a Jira environment for hands-on practice. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users, which is enough to follow the exercises. Confirm with us whether a shared training environment is provided for your session.

    Assessment

    Is there an exam for the JIRA course?

    No. This is a practical skills course with no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout the programme, so you build proficiency by doing.

    Will I get a certificate after the training?

    Yes. On completing the Fundamentals or Advanced programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This recognises your participation and the practical Jira skills you have built; it is not a formal certification exam.

    How are my skills assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, you work through hands-on exercises based on realistic Agile delivery scenarios, from creating boards and running sprints to configuring workflows and automation, so you can check your understanding as you go.

    Does this course lead to an Atlassian certification?

    No. This is an independent skills course delivered by Invensis Learning and is not an Atlassian certification programme. It builds the practical Jira capability you use at work, and complements any vendor credential you may pursue separately.

    Will I be able to use Jira confidently afterwards?

    Yes. Fundamentals leaves you able to create projects, manage issues, run Scrum and Kanban boards, plan releases and read Agile reports. Advanced adds workflow design, schemes, dashboards, automation, integrations and administration, so you can configure and run Jira for a team.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

    Fundamentals covers the Jira interface, project types, the Epic to Subtask issue hierarchy, issue creation and management, the Scrum board and sprint cycle, the Kanban board and WIP limits, roadmaps and versions, filters, basic JQL, and core Agile reports such as velocity and burndown.

    What does the Advanced level add?

    Advanced covers custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD tools, and Jira administration and governance.

    Is the training hands-on or theory based?

    It is highly hands-on. The instructor demonstrates each feature while you follow along in a live Jira environment, then practise with realistic Agile delivery scenarios. The focus is on building skills you apply at work, not just on concepts.

    Does the course cover JQL and reporting?

    Yes. You learn to build saved filters and write Jira Query Language (JQL) queries, from basic searches at Fundamentals level to advanced operators at Advanced level, and to read velocity, burndown, cumulative flow and dashboard reports for delivery tracking.

    Can beginners keep up with the course?

    Yes. The Fundamentals level assumes no prior Jira knowledge and starts from the basics, so beginners can follow comfortably. If you already use Jira daily, the Advanced level will suit you better and keep the pace challenging.
