Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. A PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders carry both, as the credentials are complementary.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide. It is particularly valued in high-risk sectors such as energy, construction, financial services and technology, where structured project risk management is often required.

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, coverage of all five risk domains, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus 32 contact hours. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current pricing in Iceland.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD, for reference around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org as they vary by region. Membership can lower both the exam and renewal costs.

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam on the first attempt?

You are not on your own. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and our practice questions, mock exams and trainer support are designed to prepare you thoroughly. Reexamination fees apply per attempt; confirm current amounts at pmi.org.

How long is the PMI-RMP exam and how many questions?

The exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and uses multiple-choice formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer questions.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

The January 2022 ECO defines five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement).

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your eligibility period.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, aligned to PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide, covering predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

Course Content

Can a beginner take this training or do I need experience?

Anyone can attend the training and learn the material. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, however, PMI requires project risk management experience and education, which we help you understand and document. The sessions are structured so newcomers to formal risk methods can follow along.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five risk domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks, plus risk tools such as SWOT, the Delphi technique, probability-impact matrices and Monte Carlo simulation, and exam strategy.

Does this training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully satisfies the 30-hour risk management education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree). Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the 115-question format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before the real thing.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-RMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and to PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering predictive, agile and hybrid risk approaches.
