    General

Is the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt worth it in Iceland?

Yes. The Yellow Belt is a recognised first credential in process improvement, valued by quality and operations employers across seafood, pharma, manufacturing and energy. It validates DMAIC awareness and Lean tool knowledge that support measurable efficiency and quality gains, and it opens the door to roles such as quality control analyst and process improvement analyst.

What is the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt?

The Yellow Belt is the entry-level Lean Six Sigma credential from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC). It is an independent, third-party validation of foundational knowledge across all five DMAIC phases at an awareness level, plus basic Lean tools. The professional designation awarded is IASSC-CYB.

Who should take Yellow Belt training?

The Yellow Belt suits professionals new to process improvement, front-line staff who support projects, and managers who want a foundation before pursuing Green Belt. It is relevant across manufacturing, seafood, healthcare, pharma, financial services, IT and the public sector.

Do I need prerequisites to get certified?

No. IASSC sets no prerequisites for the Yellow Belt. Training and real-world experience are recommended but not required, so the credential is open to professionals at any career stage who want to build process improvement knowledge.

How long is the certification valid?

An IASSC certification carries Current status for three years from the date you are certified. To maintain it, you pass the recertification exam before the status elapses, keeping your credential and IASSC-CYB designation up to date.
