Apply graphical analysis, hypothesis testing and inferential statistics to separate real causes from noise and pinpoint the true drivers of defects and variation.

    Improve Processes with Proven Tools

Use simple and multiple regression, designed experiments and Lean techniques to test solutions, optimise performance and deliver measurable, evidence-based improvements.

    Control and Sustain the Gains

Apply statistical process control charts, 5S, Kanban and Poka-Yoke, and build control plans so the improvements you make hold long after the project closes.

    Apply Lean Waste-Reduction Principles

Integrate Lean thinking, value stream mapping and the seven wastes within DMAIC to streamline flow and remove non-value-adding steps across operations.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) is an intermediate, internationally recognised process improvement credential from IASSC. It validates your ability to apply the DMAIC method to reduce waste, defects and variation, and suits professionals who lead or support improvement projects.

    General

What is the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification?

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) is an intermediate, internationally recognised process improvement credential from IASSC. It validates your ability to apply the DMAIC method to reduce waste, defects and variation, and suits professionals who lead or support improvement projects.

Is the Green Belt worth it for professionals in Iceland?

Yes. As Icelandic manufacturers, seafood processors, pharma firms and energy producers face high costs and global competition, certified improvement specialists are in demand. The credential maps to quality, process and operations roles that command strong salaries in Iceland.

Who should take Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training?

It suits quality analysts, process and quality engineers, operations staff, team leads and anyone driving improvement. There are no prerequisites, so beginners and those advancing from a Yellow Belt can both enrol with confidence.

Do I need prior experience or a Yellow Belt first?

No. IASSC sets no prerequisites for the Green Belt, so you can start without a Yellow Belt or prior certification. Real-world experience helps but is not required, and the training builds the knowledge you need from the ground up.

How long is the IASSC Green Belt valid?

The IASSC Green Belt holds Current status for three years. To maintain it, you pass the IASSC recertification exam before your status elapses, keeping your credential active for another three years.

Which body awards the Green Belt certification?

The certification is awarded by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), an independent third-party body acquired by PeopleCert in 2020. IASSC credentials are recognised by employers worldwide.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the IASSC exam first time?

You can retake the IASSC Green Belt exam by purchasing another voucher. Our training includes mock tests and practice questions aligned to the exam, so you sit it well prepared and confident.

What is the format of the IASSC Green Belt exam?

It is a closed-book exam of 100 multiple-choice and true/false questions, with up to 10 additional unscored questions on some forms. You have three hours, and it is taken via online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE centre.

What is the passing score for the Green Belt exam?

You need a minimum of 385 out of 550 points to pass. Questions are spread fairly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so broad mastery across all phases is the best approach.

    How is the exam delivered?

The exam is available around the clock through online web-based proctoring or at Pearson VUE test centres in more than 165 countries, so you can sit it from Iceland either remotely or in person.

Are there any eligibility requirements for the exam?

No. IASSC requires no formal education, work experience or training to sit the Green Belt exam. Training and project experience are recommended, and our course prepares you fully.

What is the exam application process?

Purchase your exam voucher from the IASSC store, choose online proctoring or a Pearson VUE centre, then schedule and sit the three-hour exam. An optional non-proctored evaluation exam is available to check your readiness first.
