What Is Driving Demand for Certified Construction PMs in Hungary

    Skilled Construction PM Shortage

Hungary's market is deep in general project managers but thin in credentialed construction specialists, and a growing labour shortage makes proven construction PM capability scarce and sought-after.

The PMI-CP makes certified construction leaders stand out

    Mega-Project Contract Complexity

Motorway upgrades like the M1 widening and large industrial builds run on complex contracts and variations, the exact 50% Contracts Management domain the PMI-CP is built around.

The PMI-CP builds contract and claims expertise

    EV Gigafactory Construction Boom

Battery and manufacturing gigafactories around Debrecen and Szeged demand tight scope, schedule and stakeholder control across multinational owners, designers and contractors.

The PMI-CP builds scope and stakeholder skills

    Energy Transition and Nuclear Build

Paks II expansion, solar and energy-storage targets bring long, high-risk capital programmes that need portfolio-grade risk aggregation and project governance to deliver.

The PMI-CP builds risk and governance capability

    Funding and Cost Pressure

EU funding uncertainty and cost inflation push tighter capital discipline, so employers value construction PMs who can control change, protect value and administer contracts rigorously.

The PMI-CP builds value and change-control skills

    Governance Gaps on Capital Programmes

Large, multi-stakeholder programmes often lack clear decision rights, reporting and compliance, the project governance layer the PMI-CP develops to keep accountability sharp.

Yes. Hungary's construction market is recovering, with output forecast to grow at a 4.7% annual rate through 2029 across motorway, housing, industrial and energy projects. Credentialed construction PMs are scarce, so the PMI-CP helps you stand out for senior contracts, project and programme roles that pay well above site level.

No. A PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply directly based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary: the PMP validates broad project management, while the PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise. Many construction professionals hold both.

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-CP is recognised through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued in international construction markets, including Hungary, where multinational contractors and clients look for globally recognised project management credentials.

The PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It suits construction project managers, site managers, contracts leads and owner's representatives.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Hungary?

Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-CP?

No. A PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply directly based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary: the PMP validates broad project management, while the PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise. Many construction professionals hold both.

    Is the PMI-CP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-CP is recognised through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued in international construction markets, including Hungary, where multinational contractors and clients look for globally recognised project management credentials.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Hungary?

Training fees vary by format and are available on request. Your fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams and application guidance. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current Hungary pricing.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions mapped to the 120-question format, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and rates differ for members and non-members. PMI membership can reduce the exam fee and give access to PMI resources. Confirm current fees on the PMI store before applying.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training for construction teams with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for contractors, engineering firms and client-side PMO teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, single-answer and multiple-answer, based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). Questions are distributed across the four domains, with Contracts Management the largest at 50%.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

Eligibility has two parts. First, complete all four self-paced prerequisite modules. Second, meet one experience set: high school diploma plus 60 months construction PM experience; a bachelor's degree plus 36 months; or a GAC-accredited degree plus 24 months. All sets need 35 contact hours of PM education and experience within the past 10 years.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Our practice questions, mock exams and domain-weighted revision are designed to build your readiness so you can approach each attempt with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), spanning contract types, variations and claims, owner and regulatory engagement, scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality, plus exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

The training is built for practising construction professionals, so some construction experience helps you get the most from it. You do not need to have met the full PMI eligibility before enrolling; we guide you on the four prerequisite modules and the experience requirements as you prepare to apply.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, practice questions mapped to the exam, full-length mock exams, templates and topic-wise quizzes to reinforce each domain.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-CP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, so you study the domains and weightings exactly as the exam tests them.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned. Note that the programme delivers 32 contact hours; confirm with us how supplementary study can help you reach the 35 contact hours PMI requires.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

What training formats are available in Hungary?

We offer live virtual instructor-led training, classroom sessions, and customised corporate group training for teams. This lets professionals across Budapest and the rest of Hungary choose the online or in-person format that fits their schedule.

How soon can I start the PMI-CP training?

New batches run regularly in live virtual and classroom formats. Check the upcoming schedules for the next available cohort, or speak with a learning advisor who can recommend a start date that suits your project commitments.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
