Is the PfMP worth it for portfolio leaders in Hungary?

Yes. PfMP validates senior portfolio leadership and positions you for roles such as Portfolio Manager, Head of PMO and PMO Director, which command strong salary bands in Hungary. Is the PfMP recognised in Hungary?

Yes. PfMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Hungary and worldwide, including GBS and SSC centres, banks, telecom operators, automotive manufacturers and pharmaceutical firms that run large project portfolios.

Do I need PMP or PgMP before taking the PfMP?

No. Neither PMP nor PgMP is a mandatory prerequisite for PfMP. Eligibility is based on general business experience and portfolio management experience, not on prior PMI certifications, though many senior portfolio leaders hold one or both.

How long is the PfMP valid and how is it renewed?

PfMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the renewal fee.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across the five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and you have four hours (240 minutes) to complete it. Results are reported with domain-level performance feedback rather than a single percentage.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). Broad mastery across all five is the best preparation approach.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis of the scored questions, with domain feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store. Our prep and practice resources support you toward a confident attempt.

Where can I take the PfMP exam in Hungary?

You can sit the exam via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal after your application is approved.

The training covers the five performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), plus the PMI application, panel review and exam strategy.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PfMP?

PMI sets three eligibility sets, all within the past 15 years: a secondary diploma with 84 months of portfolio experience, or a four-year degree with 48 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 36 months, each with 120 months of business experience, plus a panel review.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PfMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline.

Can a beginner take this course or is experience needed?

Anyone can enrol in the training, but the PfMP is a senior credential. To sit the exam you must meet PMI's substantial business and portfolio management experience requirements and pass the panel review, so it is aimed at experienced professionals.
