    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The IASSC Black Belt exam is a closed-book exam of 150 multiple-choice questions to be completed in four hours (240 minutes). A reference document with the required formulas and tables is provided, and some forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions.

    How many questions are on the exam and what is the passing score?

    The exam has 150 scored multiple-choice questions, each worth one mark. To pass, you need a minimum of 580 points out of 750. Focus your preparation across all five DMAIC phases, as questions are weighted towards Measure, Analyse and Control.

    What is the exam application process?

    After preparing, you can take an optional non-proctored evaluation exam to check readiness, then purchase your exam voucher through the IASSC orders site. You choose either 24/7 online proctored delivery or a Pearson VUE test centre, schedule your sitting, and complete the exam.

    Where and how do I take the exam?

    You can sit the exam online with web-based proctoring available around the clock, or at a Pearson VUE test centre, with thousands of centres across more than 160 countries including Greece. Choose whichever option is most convenient for you.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    You can retake the exam by purchasing another voucher. Our mock exams, exam simulator and trainer guidance are designed to build readiness so you walk in prepared, and our team can advise on the best approach for a confident resit.

    What topics are covered in the training?

    The training covers all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. This includes advanced statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control and Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban and Poka-Yoke.

    Will I learn the DMAIC method and advanced statistics?

    Yes. DMAIC and advanced statistical analysis are the core of Black Belt level training. You will work through hypothesis testing, ANOVA, regression and Design of Experiments, which are the differentiating skills between Green Belt and Black Belt practitioners.

    Are practice tests and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator aligned to the 150-question, four-hour format. These help you identify weak areas and build genuine exam readiness.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest body of knowledge?
