Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is the Project Management Institute's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying, assessing and controlling project risks, and it is designed for project risk managers, senior project managers, risk analysts and PMO professionals who specialise in risk.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is the Project Management Institute's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying, assessing and controlling project risks, and it is designed for project risk managers, senior project managers, risk analysts and PMO professionals who specialise in risk.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Accra?

Yes. In Accra, certified risk professionals are in demand across banking, mining, oil and gas and infrastructure, where large projects carry heavy risk. The credential differentiates you for senior risk roles and is associated with a reported pay premium over non-certified peers.

Is the PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many PMI-RMP holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials complement each other well.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised in Ghana?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers in Ghana and worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as banking, mining, energy and infrastructure, where formal project risk management is expected.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle and pay PMI's renewal fee.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, exam application guidance and learner support. Speak with a learning advisor for a full inclusions list and a quote.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Accra?

Training fees vary by format and schedule and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote to get pricing for your preferred format.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-RMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and members pay less than non-members. PMI membership can lower both the exam fee and renewal costs; verify current fees on pmi.org.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for teams?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and risk functions. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and revision support to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce the chance of a resit.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats, delivered online or at a test centre.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five domains from the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Accra?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility period.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, and aligns to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the current PMBOK Guide, covering predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take the training, or do I need experience?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of three eligibility sets, so the training suits professionals who already work with project risk.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers the five PMI-RMP domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks, plus exam strategy and application guidance, across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

Does the training satisfy the exam education requirement?

The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 hours of extra risk training.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, along with quizzes, to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-RMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, reflecting predictive, agile and hybrid risk management.
