Industry Challenges Driving Risk Management Demand in Fiji

    Climate and Disaster Risk Exposure

Fijian projects face cyclones, flooding and coastal erosion, so climate and disaster resilience must be planned into delivery. Certified risk professionals are hired to identify and respond to these threats early.

PMI-RMP builds risk identification and response skills

    Donor-Funded Governance Demands

ADB and World Bank programmes require formal risk, procurement and safeguards controls. Structured project risk management is exactly the capability lenders and executing agencies now expect.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and planning skills

    Project Delivery Capacity Gap

Reviews of Fijian executing agencies flag limited project and risk management capacity as a delivery risk. Credentialed professionals help close that gap on major capital works.

PMI-RMP strengthens delivery and monitoring skills

    Scarce Risk Talent Pool

Fiji has a deep pool of general project staff but few specialist risk professionals. The PMI-RMP credential and its experience requirement make holders rare and sought after.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk professionals stand out

    Financial and Regulatory Risk Pressure

Banks, insurers and the superannuation sector face tighter risk and compliance expectations. Project risk skills help deliver regulatory change and system programmes with control.

PMI-RMP builds analysis and reporting skills

    Tourism-Led Economic Volatility

Heavy reliance on tourism and aviation exposes projects to demand shocks and funding shifts. Risk-aware delivery leaders help organisations plan responses and protect value.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and covers five risk management domains.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. The questions are distributed across the five domains of the January 2022 ECO.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%), and Monitor and Close Risks (15%), per the ECO effective January 2022.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three routes. With a secondary diploma you need 36 months of risk experience in the last five years plus 40 hours of risk education; with a four-year degree you need 24 months plus 30 hours; a GAC-accredited degree needs 12 months plus 30 hours. Our 32 contact hours meet the 30-hour requirement.

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, with a re-examination fee for later attempts. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to prepare you thoroughly so you sit with confidence.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Fiji?

The training covers all five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks, plus risk tools such as SWOT, probability and impact matrices, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees and expected monetary value.

Can a beginner or non-PMP take this course?

Yes. You can enrol without a PMP, and the training builds risk knowledge step by step. To sit the exam you must meet PMI's risk experience and education requirements, which our team can help you confirm before you apply.

Does the training cover agile and hybrid risk management?

Yes. In line with the January 2022 ECO, the programme covers project risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery approaches, so you can apply the techniques to the range of projects run in Fiji.

What learning resources and practice are included?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-RMP ECO and Handbook, practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 115-question format, plus templates and quizzes to reinforce each domain.
