    How is my learning checked during the course?

    Is this a formal qualification or a skills course?

    This is a practical skills course, not a formal qualification. It builds software proficiency you can apply immediately at work. On meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

    Will I receive proof of completing the course?

    Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning once you finish the programme, recognising the hands-on Microsoft Project skills you have built.

    What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

    You will be able to create a project file, configure calendars, build a task list with milestones, link tasks with dependencies, identify the critical path, assign work, material and cost resources, set a baseline, track progress and generate built-in reports.

    What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

    You will be able to apply the different task types, run and interpret resource levelling, track cost and calculate earned value, build custom fields, views and reports, and manage master projects, subprojects and cross-project links across a programme.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

    Fundamentals covers project setup and calendars, building the work breakdown structure, task dependencies and the critical path, creating and assigning resources, setting baselines, tracking progress with % complete, and producing status reports. It runs over two days.

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers advanced scheduling and task types, resource pools and levelling, cost management and earned value, custom fields, views, tables and reports, master projects and cross-project links, and what-if scenario planning. It runs over three days.

    Are the sessions hands-on?

    Yes. You follow along in Microsoft Project while the trainer demonstrates each feature, then apply it in practical exercises using realistic project scenarios. The focus is on building proficiency you can use at work, not just watching a demonstration.

    Do I need Microsoft Project installed for the training?

    Yes. You should have Microsoft Project installed and accessible on your device before the training so you can work through the exercises. This can be the Microsoft Project desktop application or Microsoft Project Online as part of Microsoft 365.
