What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is PgMP worth it for programme leaders in Estonia?

Yes. As Estonian scaleups, banks and digital-government programmes mature, employers increasingly value certified programme leaders. Senior Programme Manager roles average around 53,000 euros, with Head of PMO and Programme Director bands higher. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need PMP before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP certification satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

Which standard is the PgMP based on?

The PgMP exam is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, published by PMI. Our courseware is aligned to this current 4th edition standard and its five performance domains.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle (Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen) within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

What is included in the PgMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Training in Estonia is quoted in euros and available on request.

How much does the PgMP exam cost?

For reference, the PMI exam fee is around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org, as PMI updates pricing periodically. PMI individual membership (about USD 139 per year) reduces the exam fee.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, so it is not part of the training fee. Membership can lower both the exam and renewal costs.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are distributed across five performance domains and include scenario-based items.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and what is the duration?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is a closed-book exam with single-answer and multiple-answer question formats.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is determined through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement per domain, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass, and where do I take the exam?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and our prep support helps you get ready to pass. You can sit the exam via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), plus application and panel-review preparation.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so you study against the standard the exam is built on.

Are practice tests, mock exams, or assignments included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the 170-question format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

How long is the PgMP training?

The instructor-led training provides 24 contact hours of programme management instruction, available in flexible schedules such as full-day or extended formats to suit senior working professionals.

Do I need prior experience for this training?

PgMP is a senior credential, so you need substantial programme management experience to sit the exam. The training is built for experienced practitioners and helps you consolidate knowledge and prepare for the exam and panel review.

What are the eligibility requirements for PgMP?

PMI offers three sets. Set A: secondary diploma plus four years of project management experience or PMP, and seven years of programme management experience. Set B: bachelor's degree plus four years each. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus three years each. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

How do I enrol in the PgMP course in Estonia?
