What is Lean Manufacturing and who is this training for?

Is this Lean training worth it for my career in Ecuador?

Yes. Lean skills are in demand across Ecuador's food, beverage, steel and consumer-goods sectors, where plants compete on efficiency in a dollarised economy. What framework is the training based on?

The training is grounded in the Toyota Production System (TPS), developed by Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo at Toyota and popularised worldwide through Womack and Jones' Lean Thinking. It covers the five Lean principles and the eight wastes (DOWNTIME).

Do I need prior Lean experience to attend?

No. The programme introduces Lean manufacturing from first principles, so no prior Lean knowledge is required. Prior manufacturing or production experience is helpful but not essential.

How long is the training and what format is it?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours) and can also be split across two half-days. It is delivered online (live virtual), in the classroom, or onsite at your plant, so you can choose what fits your team.

How much does Lean Manufacturing Training cost in Ecuador?

Pricing depends on the delivery format (online, classroom or onsite corporate) and group size, and is quoted in US dollars, Ecuador's official currency. Request a quote for current individual and group pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes practitioner-led instruction across all six Lean modules, hands-on exercises, courseware and learning resources, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask a learning advisor what your chosen format includes.

Are there payment or instalment options?

Is there any exam or membership fee to budget for?

No. This is a non-certification course with no exam and no awarding-body membership fee, so the training fee is the main cost. You simply pay for the training format you choose.

Assessment

Is there an exam for this Lean Manufacturing course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Lean exercises, waste-identification activities and manufacturing case studies during the programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This recognises that you completed the training; it is not a formal certification, as Lean Manufacturing has no awarding body.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You apply the tools through practical exercises such as waste walks, value stream mapping, 5S assessment, OEE calculation and kanban sizing on realistic production scenarios.

Will I be able to apply Lean tools straight away at work?

Yes. The training is designed for immediate application. You leave able to run waste walks, read a value stream map, lead a 5S drive, design a kanban loop, calculate OEE and facilitate Kaizen improvements.

Does this prepare me for further Lean study?

Yes. It is a strong foundation for further learning such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Poka Yoke and Lean Six Sigma courses, all available through Invensis Learning.

Course Content

What topics does the Lean Manufacturing Training cover?

The course covers Lean foundations and the Toyota Production System, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), value stream mapping, 5S and visual management, pull systems and kanban, Just-in-Time, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka, Poka Yoke and building a Lean culture.

What is the DOWNTIME model I will learn?

DOWNTIME is the eight-waste memory aid: Defects, Overproduction, Waiting, Non-utilised talent, Transportation, Inventory, Motion and Extra processing. You learn to spot and eliminate each of them on the shop floor.

Are there hands-on exercises in the training?

Yes. The day includes practical activities such as a Gemba waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, an OEE calculation and kanban quantity sizing on realistic factory scenarios.

Does the course cover 5S, kanban and TPM in one programme?

Yes. The one-day programme covers the full Lean toolkit, including 5S, value stream mapping, pull systems and kanban, Just-in-Time, Total Productive Maintenance, OEE, SMED, Heijunka and Kaizen.

Is the training relevant to non-manufacturing operations?

Yes. While focused on manufacturing, tools such as 5S, waste elimination, value stream mapping and Kaizen apply to logistics, processing and service operations too.
