What Is Quality Function Deployment?Untitledprepares you to do?
Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a structured, customer-driven methodology that translates the Voice of the Customer into specific technical and engineering characteristics at every stage of product and service development. Its central tool, the House of Quality matrix, makes customer requirements visible and traceable through the whole design process. This one-day (8-hour) training suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, R&D professionals and Six Sigma practitioners. In the Dominican Republic, where medical device, electronics and consumer goods manufacturers in the free zones must convert demanding customer and regulatory needs into precise specifications, these skills are directly useful on the job from day one. QFD was developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, with its first formal application at the Mitsubishi Kobe Shipyard in 1972. You learn to capture the Voice of the Customer, build and interpret the House of Quality, and cascade the analysis through product planning, parts deployment, process planning and production planning. There is no exam and no credential to earn; the focus is practical capability you can apply straight away. Start your QFD journey with Invensis Learning.
