    How long is the Green Belt certification valid?

    The IASSC Green Belt holds Current status for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you pass a recertification exam of 75 questions in two hours, with a minimum 70% score, before the status elapses.

    What is the format of the IASSC Green Belt exam?

    The exam has 100 questions, is closed book, and uses multiple-choice and true or false formats over a three-hour allotted time. Some forms include up to 10 additional unscored questions. It can be sat online with proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    What is the passing score for the Green Belt exam?

    You need a minimum of 385 points out of 550 to pass. Questions are spread across the five DMAIC phases, so the best approach is broad mastery of Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control rather than focusing on one area.

    Where and how can I sit the exam?

    You can take the exam through the IASSC online, on-demand proctored system, available 24 hours a day, or at one of thousands of Pearson VUE test centres worldwide. You choose the delivery mode when you buy your exam voucher.

    Are there eligibility requirements to sit the exam?

    No. There are no education, work experience or training prerequisites to sit the IASSC Green Belt exam. Training and real-world practice are recommended to prepare, but they are not mandatory.

    Can a beginner take this course?

    What topics does the Green Belt training cover?

    The training covers the five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. You learn process mapping, basic statistics, measurement-system analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, Lean tools and statistical process control, mapped to the IASSC Green Belt Body of Knowledge.

    How many training hours does the programme include?

    The Green Belt programme provides 32 hours of training, delivered in flexible formats such as four full days, six shorter days or eight half-days. The schedule depends on the batch you choose.
