    Grid and Transmission Complexity

BC Hydro's C$6 billion North Coast Transmission Line and related power buildout demand quantitative risk analysis and reserve planning across long, interdependent programmes.

PMI-RMP builds risk aggregation and response skills

    Port and Trade Infrastructure Pressure

This PMI-RMP training program helps learners build end-to-end project risk capability and exam readiness. By the end, you can plan, identify, analyse, respond to and monitor risk on real projects, and prepare for the 115-question exam with confidence.

    Build a Project Risk Strategy

Skills covered in the PMI-RMP start here: you will set risk thresholds, confirm risk appetite with stakeholders, and tailor a risk management plan and risk breakdown structure for predictive, agile or hybrid projects, aligned to the current PMI outline.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities

Run structured identification using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, SWOT, assumption and constraint analysis and prompt lists, then document risks clearly in the risk register in cause-risk-effect form.

    Analyse Risks Qualitatively and Quantitatively

Score and prioritise risks with a probability-impact matrix, then apply quantitative methods including Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to model impact on cost and schedule.

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Select and execute response strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept), assign owners, and build contingency and fallback plans with reserve analysis.

    Monitor and Close Risks

Track triggers and early-warning indicators, manage residual and secondary risks, run periodic risk reviews, report risk status to stakeholders, and formally close risks with lessons learned at project closure.

Apply Risk Across Agile and Hybrid Delivery

Adapt risk techniques to predictive, agile and hybrid environments as required by the January 2022 exam content outline, so you can lead risk on any project delivery approach used across Vancouver employers.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It covers five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. It is delivered through Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or via OnVUE online proctoring.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three paths. Set A: a secondary diploma plus 36 months of risk experience and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: a bachelor's degree plus 24 months and 30 hours. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months and 30 hours, all within the last five years.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our practice resources and trainer support help you prepare to pass.

Does this training satisfy the PMI education requirement?

Yes for most candidates. The 32 contact hours fully meet the 30-hour education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree). Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 further hours of risk education.
