How many exams are in the PRINCE2 combined course?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams. The Foundation exam has 60 questions in 60 minutes, closed book, with a 60% pass mark. The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks in 150 minutes, open book, also with a 60% pass mark.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

Foundation is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam of 60 questions over 60 minutes. You need 36 correct answers, or 60%, to pass. It tests knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 method.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

Practitioner is an open-book, scenario-based exam of 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks over 150 minutes. You need 42 marks, or 60%, to pass, and the PRINCE2 7 manual is permitted during the exam.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

PRINCE2 Foundation is required before Practitioner. PeopleCert also accepts certain equivalents such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA levels. Foundation itself has no formal prerequisites and is open to all.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 exams?

You can sit both exams online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. Exams are usually arranged as part of the training package.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can resit either exam through PeopleCert, and re-sit fees and policies apply. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams for both levels to help you prepare thoroughly before you sit.
