How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a time limit of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers four domains from the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-CP exam?

You complete four mandatory self-paced modules (56 PDUs total), plus one experience set: a secondary diploma with 60 months, a bachelor's with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months of construction PM experience in the past 10 years, all with 35 contact hours of PM education.

How is the exam scored and what if I do not pass?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, so our prep focuses on broad mastery.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility window.

Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four ECO domains: construction contracts and claims management, stakeholder engagement, strategy and scope management, and project governance, plus the four prerequisite modules and exam strategy.

Do I need construction experience to take this training?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires construction project management experience and education under one of its three eligibility sets, which we help you document.

Which standard is PMI-CP based on?

PMI-CP is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the current PMBOK Guide, applied specifically to construction project management across the build lifecycle.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 120-question format, plus quizzes to help you find weak areas and build exam readiness.

Will I get a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate and the contact hours earned. Ask us how those hours count toward the 35 contact hours of PM education PMI requires for exam eligibility.
