What Is Six Sigma Awareness Training in Brazil?UntitledA Practical Introduction to Data-Driven Quality

Six Sigma Awareness Training in Brazil is a one-day, non-certification programme that introduces the Six Sigma methodology, the DMAIC improvement roadmap and the everyday language of quality to employees, managers and leaders. Six Sigma is a data-driven approach to reducing process variation and eliminating defects, first developed at Motorola in the 1980s and made famous by GE in the 1990s, with the well-known target of fewer than 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO). This awareness course does not turn you into a Green Belt or Black Belt. Instead, it gives your whole team a shared understanding of how Six Sigma works, so they can support improvement projects, follow DMAIC reports and contribute to better quality at work. Across Brazil's manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage and services sectors, that shared understanding is what makes company-wide improvement programmes succeed. Delivered by Invensis Learning in live virtual, classroom and corporate formats, the training is built for practical use from day one. There is no exam and no formal awarding body, just clear, applicable knowledge and a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Why Six Sigma Skills Are in Demand Across Brazil

    Reindustrialisation Drive

Brazil's Nova Industria Brasil programme is pushing factories to raise competitiveness and quality, and process improvement skills are central to closing the gap with global manufacturers.

Six Sigma awareness supports the shift

    Automotive Quality Pressure

Major vehicle makers and their supplier networks across Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais and Parana demand near-zero defects, making variation reduction and DMAIC everyday priorities.

DMAIC helps reduce defects and variation

    Margin and Cost Discipline

Tight margins across industry and services push companies to cut waste and rework, exactly the losses that Lean and Six Sigma are designed to remove.

Six Sigma targets waste and rework

    Agribusiness at Scale

Brazil's food processing and agribusiness leaders run high-volume operations where small quality gains translate into large savings, driving demand for structured improvement.

    Small quality gains, large savings

    Shared Services Growth

The rise of shared services and BPO centres brings a strong focus on process standardisation and error reduction, where awareness of DMAIC helps every team member add value.

Awareness helps every team member contribute

    Structured Problem-Solving Gap

Employers report plenty of technical talent but fewer people trained in data-driven problem solving, so a workforce that understands Six Sigma stands out.

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning once you complete the one-day programme. This is a record of attendance and learning, not a formal certification, as Six Sigma awareness training has no external awarding body.

Does this course make me a Green Belt or Black Belt?

No. This is an awareness-level introduction and does not qualify you to lead Six Sigma projects. To become a practitioner, you would progress to Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt training, and this course is an ideal first step towards them.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, interactive discussions and team exercises throughout the day let you apply Six Sigma concepts to your own work, so you leave able to use the ideas straight away.

What will I be able to do after completing the training?

After the course you can explain what Six Sigma is, follow the five DMAIC phases, use the core vocabulary, understand the Six Sigma roles, and contribute to and support improvement projects in your organisation with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

The training covers six areas: the history, philosophy and business case for Six Sigma; key concepts and terminology; the DMAIC methodology; Six Sigma roles and structure; an awareness-level look at the core tools; and Lean Six Sigma in practice.

What is DMAIC and is it covered in the course?

Yes, DMAIC is central to the course. DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control, the five-phase Six Sigma roadmap for improving existing processes. You learn what happens in each phase and how tollgate reviews keep decisions data-driven.

Which Six Sigma tools will I learn about?

You gain awareness of the key tools used in DMAIC projects, including SIPOC, fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams, Pareto charts, control charts, measurement system analysis and process capability. The aim is to understand what each tool does, not to use them at practitioner depth.

    How long is the training?

The course runs for one day, a total of eight hours. It can be delivered as a single full day or as two half-days, covering all six modules with discussion and case examples throughout.

Is the content suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. The course is built for a general audience with no assumed background in quality or statistics. Every concept is explained in plain language, making it a comfortable and useful starting point for anyone in Brazil.
