What Is Kaizen and How This Training Helps YouUntitledContinuous Improvement, Made Practical

Kaizen training in Brazil gives professionals a practical, structured way to improve how work gets done every day. Kaizen (改善), meaning change for the better, is a Japanese continuous improvement philosophy developed within the Toyota Production System and brought to global business by Masaaki Imai in 1986. It combines a daily improvement mindset with the structured Kaizen event, a focused team workshop that targets a specific process problem and fixes it fast. This is a hands-on skills course, not an exam-based programme. Over one intensive day you learn the PDCA cycle, how to spot the eight wastes at the Gemba, and how to plan, run and sustain a Kaizen event using tools such as 5S, standard work and the spaghetti diagram. It suits operations managers, Lean coordinators, supervisors and quality professionals across Brazil's manufacturing, logistics and services sectors. On completion you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning and continuous improvement skills you can apply immediately.

What You Will Learn in Kaizen TrainingSkills You Can Use from Day One

This Kaizen training builds hands-on continuous improvement skills you can apply straight away. You will learn to run a Kaizen event from start to finish, use core Lean and quality tools, and make improvements that last.

    Run a Structured Kaizen Event

Plan, facilitate and close a Kaizen event end to end: select the target, set measurable objectives, assemble a cross-functional team, and move from current state to a tested future state in a focused workshop.

    Apply the PDCA Improvement Cycle

Use Plan-Do-Check-Act as the backbone of every improvement: define the problem, trial countermeasures, measure the results, standardise what works, then start the next cycle.

    Identify Waste at the Gemba

Go and see where work actually happens, and spot the eight wastes (DOWNTIME) along with Muda, Mura and Muri, so improvement effort targets the problems that matter most.

Find Root Causes with Proven Tools

Drill to the real cause of problems using 5 Whys and fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams, process flow mapping and simple data collection to guide sound countermeasures.

    Use 5S and Standard Work

Organise the workplace with Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise and Sustain, and lock in improvements with standard work so hard-won gains do not revert over time.

    Sustain a Continuous Improvement Culture

Keep gains alive with visual management, 30-60-90 day audits and the Kaizen newspaper, and embed daily improvement so teams keep getting better every day.

What is included in the course fee?

How do I pay for the training?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and corporate invoicing is available for company-sponsored bookings. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the payment option that suits you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam in Kaizen training?

No. Kaizen training has no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulation, team exercises and group discussion during the one-day programme, so you practise applying the method rather than sitting a test.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. You practise planning and running elements of a Kaizen event using realistic scenarios throughout the course, which builds practical capability you can apply directly at work.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No external body awards a Kaizen credential, as the method has no formal certification, but the record confirms you have completed the practical training.

Is Kaizen governed by an awarding body?

No. Kaizen is an established continuous improvement methodology rooted in the Toyota Production System and popularised by Masaaki Imai in 1986. It has no single governing body or certification exam; the value lies in the practical skills you gain.

How long is the Kaizen training?

The course runs for one day (eight hours), covering the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle, planning and running a Kaizen event, Kaizen tools and sustaining improvements, with workshop simulation throughout. A two half-day format is also available.

    Course Content

What will I learn in Kaizen training?

You will learn to plan, facilitate and sustain a Kaizen event, apply the PDCA cycle, identify the eight wastes at the Gemba, and use tools such as 5S, standard work, the spaghetti diagram and the Kaizen newspaper. The focus is practical facilitation skills.

What topics does the course cover?

The programme covers the Kaizen philosophy and mindset, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning and running a Kaizen event phase by phase, Kaizen tools in practice, and sustaining a continuous improvement culture.

    What Lean tools are included?

You practise 5 Whys and fishbone analysis, process and current-state mapping, 5S workplace organisation, standard work, spaghetti diagrams, time observation and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking actions.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. Hands-on workshop simulation runs throughout the day, so you plan and practise elements of a Kaizen event using realistic process scenarios rather than only listening to theory.

Is the course relevant to non-manufacturing sectors?

Yes. While Kaizen originated in manufacturing, its principles apply in healthcare, logistics, financial services, IT and any sector where teams want continuous, sustainable process improvement through structured events.
