    Exam

What is the format of the Yellow Belt exam?

The IASSC Yellow Belt exam is a closed-book test of 60 multiple-choice and true or false questions, with a two-hour time allowance. Some forms include up to 6 additional unscored questions. It is based on the IASSC Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge.

What is the passing score for the exam?

You must achieve a minimum of 230 points out of 300. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so the best approach is broad understanding of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.

Are there prerequisites to sit the exam?

No. IASSC sets no prerequisites for the Yellow Belt exam. Training and real-world experience are recommended but not mandatory, which makes the credential an accessible entry into Lean Six Sigma.

How and where do I take the exam?

You can sit the exam through the IASSC web-based, online-proctored system, available on demand, or at a PearsonVUE testing centre. Both options are available to candidates in Brazil. The exam is purchased and scheduled through IASSC.

What if I do not pass the first time?

Our training and practice questions are designed to prepare you thoroughly for a first-time pass. If you need to retake, you can purchase another exam voucher from IASSC. Our trainers can guide you on focus areas before you sit again.
