Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It validates your ability to identify, assess and respond to project risk, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities. It suits project risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who specialise in risk.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It validates your ability to identify, assess and respond to project risk, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities. It suits project risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who specialise in risk.

Is PMI-RMP worth it in Belgium?

Yes. Belgian banks, insurers, energy, infrastructure and EU programmes increasingly seek certified risk specialists as regulation tightens and projects grow more complex. Senior risk manager roles average around €124,742, and the RMP marks you out as a specialist in a market rich in project managers but short of credentialed risk professionals.

Is PMP required before taking PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many RMP holders also hold PMP, as the two credentials complement each other, but you do not need one to earn the other.

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three routes. Set A: secondary diploma plus 36 months of risk experience in the last 5 years and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: bachelor's degree plus 24 months and 30 hours. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months and 30 hours. Experience must be specifically in project risk management.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Belgium?

Training fees vary by format and are available on request, so you can pick live virtual, classroom or corporate delivery to suit your budget. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate with contact hours. The PMI exam fee is not included. Ask a learning advisor for a full breakdown.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, though prices vary by region and should be confirmed on pmi.org. Membership, around USD 139 a year, reduces the exam fee and gives free access to PMI's risk standard.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, delivery teams and risk functions across Belgium. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It covers five risk domains using single-answer and multiple-answer questions, delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. The questions are distributed across the five risk domains defined in the January 2022 Examination Content Outline.

What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Per the January 2022 ECO the five domains are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our training includes mock exams and practice questions to build readiness, and re-examination fees apply to later attempts; confirm the current amounts on pmi.org.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five domains of the January 2022 Examination Content Outline: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks, including qualitative and quantitative analysis and agile and hybrid risk management.

Can a beginner take this course or do I need experience?

Anyone can enrol in the training, and it is structured to build from fundamentals. To sit the RMP exam, however, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of its three eligibility routes, which our trainers help you assess.

Does the training count toward the PMI-RMP education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides risk management education that satisfies the 30-hour requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates (secondary diploma) need 40 hours and should add supplementary study to meet the full requirement.

Which tools and techniques will I practise?

You practise risk identification methods such as SWOT and Delphi, qualitative probability-impact analysis, and quantitative techniques including Monte Carlo simulation, decision-tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value, plus response and monitoring approaches.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest RMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

What training formats are available in Belgium?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training. This lets professionals across Belgium choose the format that fits their schedule and learning style.

    How soon can I start?

New cohorts run regularly across live virtual and corporate formats. View upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor, and you can typically join the next available batch that suits your timezone and availability.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?
