    What levels is the Jira course available at?

    The course runs at two levels: Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) for new or occasional users, and Advanced (3 days, 24 hours) for experienced users and Jira administrators. You can attend either level on its own or take both in sequence.

    Which version of Jira does the course use?

    The training focuses on Jira Software, using a live Jira environment. Jira Cloud is Atlassian's primary, most current delivery model, and the skills transfer to Jira Data Center. You practise real features hands-on throughout both levels.

    Do I need prior Jira experience to join?

    No prior Jira experience is needed for the Fundamentals level; basic familiarity with web applications is enough. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

    Is a Jira licence included in the price?

    Assessment

    Is there an exam for the Jira course?

    No. This is a non-certification, skills-focused course, so there is no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises using realistic Agile delivery scenarios throughout the programme.

    What will I receive on completion?

    You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential or awarding body; the real value is the practical, job-ready Jira skills you build and can apply immediately at work.

    How is my learning assessed?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each feature through guided exercises using realistic project scenarios, so you leave able to do the work in Jira, not just describe it.

    Will I be able to use Jira at work after the course?

    Yes. Fundamentals leaves you able to create projects, manage issues, run sprints and Kanban boards and build reports. Advanced adds workflow design, schemes, automation, integrations and Jira administration.

    Does the course prepare me to administer Jira?

    The Advanced level does. You learn to configure workflows and schemes, build automation, connect Jira to DevOps tools, and manage users, global settings and governance for a Jira instance.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Jira course cover?

    Fundamentals covers navigation, project creation, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, versions, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced covers workflow design, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, integrations and administration.

    What is the difference between Fundamentals and Advanced?

    Fundamentals (2 days) builds core skills for creating and tracking work, running boards and sprints and reporting. Advanced (3 days) is for experienced users and administrators, covering workflow and scheme configuration, automation, integrations and Jira administration.

    Does the course cover Scrum and Kanban boards?

    Yes. You learn to run the Scrum board through backlog refinement, sprint planning and sprint review, and to manage continuous flow work on the Kanban board with WIP limits, swimlanes and the Kanban backlog.

    Will I learn JQL and reporting?

    Yes. You learn to create saved filters, write basic JQL at Fundamentals level and advanced JQL at Advanced level, and interpret velocity, burndown, sprint and cumulative flow reports, plus build dashboards for management reporting.

    Does the course cover automation and integrations?

    Yes, at Advanced level. You build no-code automation rules with triggers, conditions and actions, and connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end DevOps delivery visibility.
