    No. This is an awareness-level introduction, not a practitioner programme. It helps you understand and support Six Sigma projects. If you want to lead projects, you can progress to Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt training afterwards.

    How is the course assessed, and is there a test?

    There is no formal test. Learning is reinforced through interactive discussion, case-study examples and team exercises during the one-day programme, so you apply the concepts to your own work as you go.

    What will I receive after completing the training?

    You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This recognises that you have completed the Six Sigma Awareness Training and built a working understanding of the methodology, vocabulary and DMAIC approach.

    How long is the Six Sigma Awareness Training?

    The course runs for one day, around eight hours in total. It can also be delivered as two half-day sessions, covering all six modules from Six Sigma history and philosophy through DMAIC, roles, tools and Lean Six Sigma.

    What will I be able to do after the course?

    You will be able to explain what Six Sigma is, use its vocabulary in meetings, follow the five DMAIC phases, understand the Six Sigma roles, and contribute more effectively to improvement projects. You will also have a foundation to progress to Yellow Belt or Green Belt.

    Is this a good foundation before further Six Sigma training?

    Yes. Awareness training is an ideal first step before Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt, and it complements courses such as 7 QC Tools and Minitab Essentials. Many organisations use it to prepare staff before a wider improvement rollout.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Six Sigma Awareness Training cover?

    The course covers Six Sigma history and philosophy, the business case and cost of poor quality, key concepts such as defects, variation, DPMO and CTQ, the full DMAIC methodology, Six Sigma roles, an awareness-level view of key tools, and Lean Six Sigma in practice.

    Can a complete beginner follow this course?

    Yes. The training is built for beginners and assumes no prior quality or statistical knowledge. Every concept is introduced with plain explanations and workplace examples, so all participants can keep up regardless of their role.

    Does the course explain the DMAIC methodology?

    Yes. DMAIC is a core part of the course. You learn what each of the five phases, Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control, involves, along with the main deliverables and tools used at each stage, at an awareness level.

    Are Lean Six Sigma and quality tools included?

    Yes. You gain an awareness-level introduction to tools such as SIPOC, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts and control charts, and learn how Lean Six Sigma combines waste elimination with variation reduction for faster, more consistent processes.

    What materials do I receive?

    You receive structured course materials covering all six modules, along with case examples and reference content to support your learning. Materials are provided in a format suited to your chosen delivery mode.
