    Is there an exam for RCA training?

    No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on tool exercises, case-study investigations and team discussion during the one-day programme.

    Will I receive anything on completion?

    Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the one-day programme. The training builds a practical RCA toolkit you can apply immediately, and does not award a formal external credential.

    How is learning assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply the tools through practical exercises, an Is/Is Not problem-definition activity, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop and a full 8D report on a realistic problem.

    Course Content

    What tools does the RCA training cover?

    The course covers the 5 Whys, the Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis in the RCA context, and the 8D problem-solving method, plus Is/Is Not analysis, Pareto and problem definition. You also learn when to use each one.

    How long is the RCA training programme?

    The programme runs for one day (eight hours), covering RCA principles, problem definition and data collection, the 5 Whys, Fishbone and advanced tools, the 8D method, and corrective action and verification, with hands-on exercises throughout.

    What will I be able to do after the training?

    You will be able to define a problem precisely, run 5 Whys and Fishbone investigations, apply Fault Tree Analysis to safety-critical events, complete an 8D report, and develop and verify corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

    Yes. Practice runs throughout the day, including an Is/Is Not problem-definition exercise, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop, and completing an 8D report for a realistic scenario, so you apply every method during the session.

    Does the course cover ISO 9001 and CAPA?

    Yes. The training shows how RCA fulfils ISO 9001:2015 corrective action requirements (Clause 10.2) and provides the investigative backbone of a CAPA process in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and food safety.
