You react to problems and the same issues keep coming back

    Now you can

You investigate once and stop recurrence with a structured method

    Before

You rely on the most obvious cause or a best guess

    Now you can

You use evidence and select the right RCA tool for each problem

    Before

Investigations stall in blame and disagreement

    Now you can

You facilitate Fishbone and 8D sessions that reach team consensus

    Before

Corrective actions fail and problems resurface

    Now you can

You write and verify corrective actions that hold over time

"The difference between fixing a symptom and solving a problem is a structured method, and the teams that matter already know it."

It covers the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA and the 8D methodology, so you can identify true root causes and implement effective corrective actions.

    General

What is Root Cause Analysis (RCA) training?

RCA training is a practical, non-certification course that teaches a structured toolkit for investigating problems and preventing recurrence. It covers the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA and the 8D methodology, so you can identify true root causes and implement effective corrective actions.

Who should attend RCA training in Uganda?

The course suits quality engineers and managers, production supervisors, operations and process improvement professionals, health and safety managers, IT service managers and anyone responsible for investigating problems. It is widely relevant across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy, healthcare and services.

Is RCA training worth it for my career?

Yes. Root cause analysis is a versatile, cross-industry skill that employers in Uganda increasingly expect as standards enforcement tightens and first oil approaches. It strengthens your profile for quality, operations and HSE roles and helps you deliver measurable improvements at work.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. There are no formal prerequisites and the course introduces RCA methodology and tools from first principles. Some familiarity with quality or process improvement is helpful but not required, so beginners and experienced professionals both benefit.

Which standards and methods does RCA relate to?

RCA underpins the ISO 9001:2015 corrective action requirement (Clause 10.2), the Analyse phase of Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean problem solving, ITIL problem management and CAPA in regulated industries. The training grounds every tool in these recognised frameworks.

    Pricing

How much does RCA training cost in Uganda?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, group size and whether you choose public or corporate training, so a current quote is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for the latest fees and upcoming schedules for Uganda.

What is included in the RCA course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six RCA modules, hands-on exercises and case studies, course materials and templates, learner support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate and group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for quality, operations and HSE teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote for your organisation.

Is there a separate exam or certification fee?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination, so there is no exam fee. You pay only the training fee, and you receive a course completion certificate on finishing the programme.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major payment methods and can arrange invoicing for corporate bookings. Speak with a learning advisor to confirm the options that apply to your enrolment.

    Assessment And Certification

Is there an exam for RCA training?

No. RCA training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on tool exercises, case study investigations and team discussion during the programme rather than a formal test.

Do I receive a certificate after RCA training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a record of completing the training, not a formal certification from an external awarding body, as no such credential exists for this skills course.

How is learning assessed during the course?

Learning is applied rather than examined. You work through practical exercises including an Is / Is Not problem definition, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop and a full 8D report, using realistic problem scenarios.

Will I be able to apply RCA at work immediately?

Yes. The training is designed for immediate use. By the end you can define problems precisely, run 5 Whys and Fishbone investigations, complete an 8D report, and develop and verify corrective actions in your own organisation.

Does the RCA skill set expire or need renewal?

No. There is no certification to maintain and nothing to renew. The methodology and tools you learn are immediately applicable and do not expire, so the skills stay valuable throughout your career.

What topics does the RCA course cover?

The course covers RCA principles and problem types, problem definition and data collection, the 5 Whys, the Fishbone diagram and advanced tools such as Fault Tree Analysis and FMEA, the 8D methodology, and corrective action, verification and building an RCA culture.

Which RCA tools will I learn?

You learn the 5 Whys for simple problems, the Fishbone diagram for multi-cause problems, Fault Tree Analysis for safety-critical events, FMEA for prioritising corrective actions, and 8D for team-based structured problem solving. The course teaches when to select each tool.

How long is the RCA training?

The programme runs for one day of eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers all six RCA modules with concept explanations, worked examples and hands-on exercises throughout.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. Hands-on exercises and case study investigations run throughout the day, including a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop, an 8D report and a corrective action plan, so you practise every tool during the training.

Does the course cover 8D and FMEA?

Yes. The course covers all eight disciplines of the 8D methodology, from containment to prevention, and uses FMEA in the RCA context to identify failure modes and prioritise corrective actions by Risk Priority Number.
