What Is Lean and Why It MattersUntitledA Practical Start in Waste Elimination
The Lean Fundamentals Training in Uganda is a one-day, introductory programme that gives professionals a practical grounding in Lean management, the discipline of maximising customer value while removing waste from everyday processes. You learn to see work through a Lean lens and to act on what you find. Rooted in the Toyota Production System developed at Toyota by Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo, Lean is built on five principles set out by James Womack and Daniel Jones in Lean Thinking (1996): identify value, map the value stream, create flow, establish pull and seek perfection. The course covers these principles, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME) and core tools including 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban, standard work and Kaizen. Designed for operations, quality, production and service professionals across Uganda, the training needs no prior Lean knowledge. It suits teams beginning a Lean journey and individuals who want a credible foundation before deeper Lean study. Start building practical improvement skills with Invensis Learning.
